The only way I've found is to make the number a contact, and then block it. I must have 75 of them. The Do not call list is a joke, and is intended for land lines, as mobile phones are supposed to be immune. Yeah, right.
I never answer anything from 800, 888, or 702.
Rarely get any spam/junk calls on cell number BUT landline we get Several everyday and it is listed on the 'Do Not Call Registry'
And YES it is a joke!
That's why I ditched the landline. The only calls I ever got on it were telemarketers and "Heather from Card Services". - Old-BiscuitExplorer III

clue: if the prefix is the same as your number and it's not a number you recognize, it's probably spam.
Yep! Spoofing numbers is the latest tool in the spammer's kit. They know that many people have friends and family members with the same prefix, and they hope you'll answer thinking it's someone you know.
I answer only if I *know* who is on the other end. All others are welcome to leave a voice mail. - magicbusExplorer IIIf you have AT&T google AT&T Call Protect.
Dave - toedtoesExplorer IIII have a call blocker app. It works great. I rarely get spam calls - usually they occur right after I used my cell number for contact info somewhere. I've gotten good at identifying spam numbers, so I just block it immediately. That seems to stop my number from making the spam circuit.

Everytime you get a junk call, categorize the number as junk and then everyone who subscribes gets a notifications when that number dials them.
- p220sigmanExplorerThe only paid app I have is a call blocking app. The one I use is Call Control. I have heard there are several others that work well also. The app has a spam database and you can add numbers also. I rarely get any spam calls now. I have it set to disconnect blocked calls, but you can choose other options.
- HackerAceExplorerThe Google Pixel 2 has a Google provided SPAM block. When you get a SPAM call you can not only block it but it goes on a list for other Pixel users. It is brilliant.
- jerryjay11ExplorerTry the Mr. Number app. I've been using it for a couple years with great success.
