You are correct. It is only required that you acquire more data before the lapse of the day limit for the previous data plan. If you expire the data you purchased all you need to do is buy another data plan. You can buy 60 day data plans as well as the 30 day plan previously mentioned. When you apply the new data plan anything you have left on the old plan will be deleted and the new plan will determine the service period. If you have data left on the old plan it will be deleted as well as the days left in the old plan. There is no rollover data/days.
My understanding on the Straight Talk plans is that you can buy overlapping data. If you start out with a 60 day card of 7GB and use it up before the 60 days are up... you either wait until the start of the next 60 day cycle or you buy a 30 day card (of whatever amount you want) to keep you connected.
You can set up auto-fill that will add a new plan at the end of the service date of the current plan. I have the ST home phone and I have it set for auto-fill but I will not setup auto-fill for my ST hotspot. I want the flexibility to add more data during the current plan service period if needed.
I know with my ST home phone I let it lapse when I get back to WV from wintering in the south. I have to reactivate it when I get ready to head south again and all that happens is that I get assigned a new number. The ST hotspot says to not let it expire so I do not know what the consequences would be for letting it lapse. - louiskathyExplorerdon't miss the fact that STRAIGHT TALK gives you a choice between Verizon and ATT coverage... TracFone's Straight Talk brand has expanded their mobile broadband offering. Two new Straight Talk LTE hotspots showed up at Walmart 10/25.

Straight Talk ZTE Z289G Hotspot is on AT&T network, and the ZTE Z288L is on Verizon network. They are both 4g LTE
and somewhere I read that the device was at $99 but has now dropped to $79
Both Hotspots along with Straight Talk's year old UniMax U240C Verizon based 3G only model use the same plans:
$15 for 1 GB good for 30 days
$25 - 2 GB - 30 days
$40 - 4 GB - 60 days
$50 - 5 GB - 60 days
$75 - 7GB - 60 days

I think the current long wait times for a CSR are likely related to this being the last few days of VZW's double data promotion for phone owners. - Dutch_12078Explorer II

It was América Móvil owned Tracfone Wireless that bought Page Plus. Their other brands are TracFone, NET10 Wireless, Straight Talk, SafeLink Wireless, Telcel América, and Simple Mobile. - MrWizardModeratorwhen ever i called VZW, i got live people quickly, and always got my problem resolved

- Robin1953ExplorerAdditional Straight Talk information. I have no interest other than I do have the 3G ST hotspot that I acquired a couple of months ago when I dropped Millenicom.

Hmmm... last time I called AT&T to increase my data from 4 to 6 Gig I was speaking to a human in 2 minutes. Within 5 minutes they had sold me 10 Gig instead of 6 and lowered my monthly bill 20%. I'll take that kind of crappy service any day! :B
Unfortunately, crappy service is par for the course with ALL of the major wireless carriers.
As someone else mentioned, if you can get to a company store you will be better off (and the accent is easier to understand).

We tried to call the Verizon number given on our jetpack. After waiting 45 minutes for someone to answer it hung up on us. I knew there was a reason we did not want Verizon. NOT ONLY IS SERVICE TERIBLE, IT DOES NOT EXIST. I guess we will use Go Phone with Unite. STILL no contract!! - rdthompson1ExplorerWe tried to call the Verizon number given on our jetpack.
