Old School CB?
In todays time is a CB radio still useful and if so what set up is recommended and what is the cost for it to be purchased and installed professionally?

Thanks everyone.
Any recommendations on unit, antenna and the like?
I like Midland and Corbra with the weather alert function. I always upgrade the microphone when I buy one. For antenna, I recommend a Wilson. I have the roof mounted with a magnet.

CB is still the best for getting traffic conditions as you travel. Don't know of any traffic apps that come close.
My "maps" on android shows red, or yellow for tfc condx. Outside of cities there isn't much tfc.

A CB does little for traffic (in my experience) - hell you can't even get a good cop report any more....that said i STILL have one, but other than knowing whats caused the stop after I'm stopped thats about all its good for.
any cb shop will install the radio for you either for free (if you buy it from them) or for a small fee.
my suggestion - if you want realtime (verified) and accurate reporting, you should install and become familiar w/ an application called WAZE !
WAZE is FREE - Learn more HERE --> https://www.youtube.com/user/WazeGPS1
