I use a DIGITONE Call Blocker(about $100), which works very well. If I get an unwanted call, I block that entire area code; have blocked 30 some odd AC's so far. Hasn't been a problem with my "wanted" calls so far. The marketing calls usually come from an area code I never want to use anyway. Occasionally a marketing call comes from a new AC, so I just add it to the block list. Peace at last! It also has a mode where you block everything, and just "invite" the AC's or numbers you want.
We are beginning to get marketing calls on the cell phones, which we only use when travelling. I never answer a call that has no name, or is a name I do not recognize. The cell phones have a limited number of "reject" calls you can use. Guess they will finally make the cells unusable too.
