As I recall, this only applies to plans with limited data.

I had unlimited data at the time this ruling came down and I read it as not applying to those of us without data limits.

I will admit that I had no problems using PDANet when I had the unlimited plan, but I tried to stay under 6 GB during peak usage months.

Now, I wish I had held onto the unlimited plan but my wife and granddaughter wanted new phones and I wasn't willing to pay full price.

6.5 Gig of HIGH SPEED Data in markets where they have high speed data (Read on)
Unlimited lower speed data.

Notes: They have been unable to clairify what HIGH SPEED means, I have gone over the limit,, by 0.1 Gig, one time I believe.

Second: High speed coverage is very limited,, Low speed coverage not as limited but no where near what Verizon has.

The 86 dollars and change DOES NOT include the cost of the phone That's paid off now.

I have to talk to them about AT&T roam feature, I know voice will roam, do not know about Data.

There is very poor coverage where I am parked.. HOWEVER this park has excellent Wi-Fi, good enough that I use it for voice as well Calls are crisp and clear using Wi-Fi... However owner says this may change when park fills up in the cooler months.. So I'm putting up my booster soon.

Straight Talk has a strict no tethering policy. Do not try this with Straight Talk - which is the big plan sold at Walmart. I have a TMobile prepaid plan from Walmart - 5 GB at 4G and unlimited below 4G, unlimited text, and 100 minutes of talk. This plan is only available on phones or SIM cards sold for TMobile at Walmart or on the TMobile website- if you buy anywhere else including a TMobile store you will not get this plan. I have used an Android app called Foxfi to connect the phone to a laptop by wifi. It works. These systems know the difference between a PC browser and a mobile browser so if you try to open a lot of graphic intensive websites on the PC they will know you are tethering. You may either be cancelled or sent a bill for the Tethering Option - which you can buy from TMobile. If you connect to a wifi tablet instead of a PC it will not show any differently than you phone. Remember - a movie streams about 1GB of data per hour of movie - so don't stream media unless you want to run through your data - even if just on your phone.

The last time I looked at Straight Talk the unlimited data is now 3GB/month and then you are throttled. From the website..."* 30 day Unlimited Plans include 3 GB of high speed data per 30 day cycle. I tether my phone to my PC using PDANet as well as stream movies using Netflix. I've done this for years and have never been bothered by Verizon, even when in some months I have used as much as 18GB of data.

ole fashion mobile usb broadband. I've been using one from sprint I bought 6 years ago to use on road rv'ing full time. Had service every place I went. Unlimited data 65.00/mo

Is it possible to set up as a hotspot?

I was not really thinking in terms of fooling somebody. I am just looking for a legal way to get unlimited internet access when camping. Maybe someday.
