Help with plugged toilet :(

I would drag it to a dump station early morning or night when no one is using them and clean it out properly. With the lack of water you will struggle to clean the tank. Do you have a shed on your land that you can collect water off the roof? I have a 500 gallon tank that comes in handy for flushing and washing the TT.

I also use a 210 gallon tank to bring fresh water to the camper... Fits nicely in the back of the truck

Sorry if my answer is redundant but I didn't read all the other replies. I have the very same problem because the pipe from the toilet to the tank is at a 45 degree angle. So paper and "whatnot" gets stuck in the pipe. The tank gauge shows 1/3 full but you can see stuff when you open the toilet flusher thingy. ANYWAY here's what we did...Take a length of hose and round off the diagonally cut end. Cram it in there DON'T TURN ON THE WATER UNLESS YOU WANT A FACE FULL OF ICK! Keep plunging that hose until the stuff in the pipe loosens up and everything falls into the tank. This can be helped by first dropping in some digester and as much water as possible. Let it sit awhile then use the hose. We had success with this method and decided right then and there, no more paper in the toi-toi...its just a bad design and no amount of dissolving paper will solve the bad engineering. We never even had to turn the water on when we used this method successfully.

First thing I'd do is go for the stick or wooden ruler that will never be used again. I've done this to dislodge a huge wad of TP stuck in the toilet, get it to fall into the black tank, then stir it up so it dissolved into the water.

When you drained the tank, did it sound like it drained? Could it be that your drain valve is not opening and the tank is actually full?

If you think the valve is working and then tank is empty, then yes try a stick to see if you can stir things up and move it along. If you can move or break up the pile then leave it full of water and let things soften for a while before dumping again.

Since you don't have a lot of water to waste I would find a metal rod long enough to hit the bottom of your and have a 3 to 4 feet at the top. Bent an L at the bottom of the rod and another at the top. Now spin the rod around and see if you can break up the pile. If you can add enough water so you can see it move around the pile, this will help move what you break off the pile away.

If you had access to water under pressure, I would get a toilet wand that spins. This will help break the pile and anything else up.

Also If you have females and children around you may want to talk to them about using less toilet paper. Also make sure you are using the type that is safe for septic tanks.

And always make sure the the tank is 3/4 or more full before you dump. Then add enough water to tank so the bottom is wet.

Since you can't drag the trailer around for a few hours, the ice trick won't help you. The idea is that the ice cubes thrashing about help break up and scour the interior of the tank, and melt away for easy removal after the deed.

stick a flush wand down there. i like the Camco spinning spray head wand.

I drain into a legal temporary septic tank .

so I think I know how to not clog it from now on, lots of water, tons of water, but what should i do now ? using a big stick and stirring , then adding all the water I can, then trying to drain again ?

What does the ice do ?

the camper is on my land up north, and would be very difficult to haul somewhere where i have a garden hose for water pressure .. I've been boon docking it since I put it there, and hauling 6 gallon jugs so far ..

Forget about the ice for your problem. Lots of folks try driving around with ice to knock 'stuff' off the sensors. Not sure if it actually works or not but people still try it.

Since you have no water at the RV, how are you dumping? Sounds like it could be a real pain in the neck for a tote.
