Service nightmare, is this typical???

Okay, so prior to leaving on our two month trip and getting your advice on the satellite hookup I decided to call the service department at dealership I just bought my rv from and have them do the satellite hookup and put on my tire minder for me since I am not the mechanical type. I called last week and was told to bring it in Tuesday morning and it would take a couple of days. I was planning on leaving on Thursday afternoon so that was fine. I took it in Tuesday morning and noted that a piece of edging had come off (which just needed to be stapled back on) and that the license plate holder was defective (missing a screw and the little plastic part it screws into), so could the please fix those two things as well. I call this afternoon to see if it was ready and they have not even looked at it!. I talked to two people prior to talking to the woman who does the scheduling who told me that they would need to have it five to ten days and that Tuesday was just the check in day. Then after they did the estimate they would have to send it into Jayco and it could take two months to get parts. She said they can't touch the cable without approval from Jayco. I say I will come get the RV and just run cables out the window because I am leaving tomorrow!. She says no we can't get the write up even done until late tomorrow at the easiest and "ma'am " I am trying to help you. This is not like taking your car in for repairs....

I have a call into the salesperson to see if he can assist. Is this typical?. Is this just "how it works"?.
