- mr__edExplorerI purchased some night driving glasses I saw on a TV ad. Normally, I don't purchase products hawked on TV, but I did this time. The lenses are yellow and it does cut down on glare significantly. I won't drive at night without them. They were very inexpensive. I got two pairs for $19.95 (for both, special price). I gave one pair to my sister.
- Gonzo42ExplorerAt one point I had a cataract problem. Normally my night vision is better than anyone I know, which leads me to suspect I can see in the red spectrum better than most.
Then the cataract problem came up and I found that the amber lenses over my glasses did help in the night vision area. No way could I predict that it will help anyone else.
After my surgery I have not used the amber lenses and things seem normal now. - LantleyNomad

Yes I agree they don't improve your vision but they do cut the glare. - Edd505ExplorerAmber @ night cut the glare back when I was driving 10-12,000 a month.
- SidecarFlipExplorer IIIIt's tough getting old....
- Roy_LynneExplorerActually it was an online ad, probably not that much difference.
- 2oldmanExplorer IIIf it's on TV it's likely junk.
- toedtoesExplorer IIISome tints will improve the contrast of the scene. During daylight or dusk, that may be enough to help differentiate between the bush and the mailbox.
But once it's night, they are useless. They can't increase your eyes' ability to see in darkness. - LantleyNomadI've used them and they help. May have more to do with cutting the glare of oncoming headlights.
They help but I would not say the difference is extreme or night vs. day. - BumpyroadExplorerI'm curious about those glasses that cut glare and make a hidden flag picture appear. any body fall for that yet?
