- filrupmarkExplorerI have never heard of that. But once I was thrown out of an air conditioned beer joint.
- hotpepperkidExplorerA lot of them say no alcohol and no firearms. One place we stayed in CO said no alcohol but 3.2 beer was OK go figure. 3.2 beer is sort of like near beer

I was at a private campground that had very limited electric capacity, only 15 amp pedestals. They flat out said "NO A/C". So to get it across, the pedestals had the old-style screw-in fuse boxes. You paid a $5 fuse deposit when you checked in, and you got a 15-amp screw-in fuse. If you blew the fuse or didn't return the intact fuse, you didn't get your deposit back.
If that campground is/was down in Ohio, WE WERE THERE! LOL! I believe it was a campground that was touting "The Largest in-ground pool in the country" or something like that.
When I went to check in, I was ready to leave the office and the very nice clerk stopped me and said, "Hey, You forgot your fuse!" I was like, "Huh?" He replied, "Your Fuse. Gotta have one to get your power on at your site." So, he hands me a screw in style fuse, and off I went.
When we arrived at the site, the fuse box was nailed to the side of a tree! :B
Now, in a place like that, I could see them not wanting you to pull too many amps with A/C. Hence, no A/C or Heater use allowed. - down_homeExplorer IIOne in Michigan charges 2.00 per day if you use air.
Campground was established before they had a/c or many anyway in units.
Wife's Cousin rewired the whole campground 3 decades ago and no load problems. Just another way to bring in money. Grand Kids now run it and rates are getting very high.
RI may have cool temps but then again their wiring is old or ..well I dunno. - ModeratorModeratorMoved from ATC

I have stayed at Wawaloam campground in ri. paid for full hook ups and then their was a extra charge if you wanted to run your A/C
But of course and we've stayed there many times and as long as a month.
AC rules aren't the only thing either, but then it's not like there's a lot of competition nearby, so they can do as they please. Don't even get me started about the WiFi at the top of the hill.
And by the way, if you're planning on having any visitors and even if only for 10min., tell them to bring some cash. If they plan on using any of the amenities while their visiting, then bring a lot more.
Here in FL and most everywhere else, they wouldn't wouldn't last a day, but then, that's there and this is here. - Ralph_CramdenExplorer II

Wow.. No alcohol either... Even restrict the riding of bicycles... No thanks..
Same at PA state parks. But having camped at them more nights than most, and guzzled down about 100000 beers and cocktails, I can tell you for a fact if youre minding YOGDB and not advertising it youll never have an issue. I have seen it enforced when required. As someone said...a tool. - JaxDadExplorer III

I think you'll find that clause "..MAY be prohibited..." is just like any other rule, it's a tool to be used to control, well, TOOLS.
I was at publicly owned park a few years back and a couple of kids were tearing the place up on mountain bikes, several complaints were lodged, and ignored, then one of the kids got his bike tangled in a dog leash.
The little dog got a broken leg and the lady on the other end of the leash a broken wrist.
Yeah, being able to 'restrict' almost anything in the hands of an idiot is probably a good idea.
Who is the idiot the one paying a higher rate then the other campers and being denied services or management I think your wrong who the Idiot is
I’m sorry, can you repeat that in English? - JaxDadExplorer III
