"Fighting city hall" or RV parking etc

My HOA allows 24 hrs at the house, not everyone follows the rules. It gets to the point that some blocks look like they are having a jamboree half the summer. Most are not shiny new buses if you get me drift and most at the lot haven't moved for years. It may be a hassle th not have mine home but it's better than watching the grass grow high around theirs as they rot slowly.

One thing I do appreciate about not having it here is not having the giant THEY ARE NOT HOME indicator. We bring it home after a trio to get it ready for the next or to work on it, never before a trip.

To Cqyqte, perhaps you should check your geography. Milton is about 35 km from the Airport, with no issue. Perhaps you are thinking about Malton not Milton. Some people may think the world revolves around them and some people post things they know nothing about and are wrong.

I do live in an HOA. Not really my first choice, but if you want to live in a nicer area of town, you live in an HOA.

Even if the HOA were to allow me to park my motorhome in my driveway, getting it into the driveway with the various neighbors cars parked on both sides of the street would be a challenge, plus I have about a 6 foot drop in a 35 foot driveway, which means I would have to chock the wheels and I would never be able to level it.

I can park on the street (city ordinances) for up to 3 days a month for loading/unloading, getting ready, etc, but don't like to leave it out there for too long for fear of some idiot side-swiping it.

My choice, even though it is a bit of a pain at times, is to store it in a lot that has a fence around it, is monitored with cameras 24/7 and is covered and away from harm. Also keeping in mind that if I had it at the house except when I am on the road, then the bad guys would be able to quickly figure out if I am home, or no a multi-week trip.

Gary, while I absolutely dispose HOAs, and I would never live in one, I completely agree with your post. Even in Jon-HOA areas, there may be restrictions on parking an rv in your driveway. Before purchasing our TT, we made sure we could park it on our property. Our previous class c was parked off our property and it was a pain.

Also, to purchase an rv then claim you can't afford a fence is laughable. Those folks just want it to be all about them.

Before we decided to sell the big house and move into our condo up at the lakes: we made sure we had a place to store the RV. It is only common sense to plan ahead but apparently some people think that they can do whatever they want and the others can change the rules to suit them. There is a lot more to owning an RV than simply plopping it down on site and sitting around thinking about your next meal.:)

After living far out in the farm country all my life, that is the reason I would never move into a HOA development. What I fear is urban sprawl. The suburbs are creeping in my direction and I don't want their regulations and codes being forced on me by newcomers to the area. :M
