How to secure 50amp power cord?

RV-ing, other than a sewage hose, I've not had anything stolen. However, I've had far worst things stolen here in Austin.

not mine. last winter.. MB,SC... a portable automatic satellite dish was stolen during the night.

We were staying long term at Kelly's Countryside RV Park just north of Callahan Florida on Hwy 1/301 a few years back and somebody stole our sewer hose and the plastic trellis that it sat on. I brought it up to the owners of Kelly's because I thought that maybe it had been removed while the grass was being cut or something like that. They reimbursed me $20.

I saw awhile back on this forum, where a poster cut a notch in one of their leveling boards, and ran the power cord through that and then backed the trailer up on to the boards. There is no way they could remove the cord without either moving the trailer or cutting the plug off. I know they also sell "lock boxes" that cover the plugs for when you have to use two cords plugged together. Between those two options, I would think that would keep your cords safe.

You're correct they are going to cut off the plug if they want it.
Thieves don't want the cord to use on their RV. They want to sell the copper wire for scrap. They don't care about either plug end.

IF they are honest to begin with then NOTHING is NEEDED.

7 yrs we traveled ALL over the USA....stayed in ALL kinds of campgrounds
and portable surge guard and our detachable 50A power cord never disappeared. Neither did the Faulkner Reclining Chairs, table, Weber BBQ or anything else we had out.

And my belief is it was because we 'introduced ourselves' to our neighbors, made friendly contact with them and let them know we would watch out for their stuff when they were gone.
Made them feel involved.......human nature. And because of that THEY watched over our stuff.

Glad I've never camped in a high crime area where I've had to worry my power cord might be stolen. My cord used to be attached, and I found that to be a PITA, stuffing a stiff or dirty cord back into the mouse hole. So I cut it off and put twist-lock connectors on.

I've lost things to forgetfulness, but never thievery. Even overnights at Wally World and truck stops.

Sorry you can't lock a cord. The thief doesn't care about the ends. They just want the wire. They will snip both ends if required.
While I'm not naive enough to believe it never happens. It's really not a major issue
