But its the fed dot that mandates cdl drivers to submit to random drug/alcohol testing plus cdl physicals every 2 years
I might be wrong but I think that's for hasmat
Physicals and random drug screens are mandated for ALL CDL drivers. If ou have a valid CDL and are not using it for your employment you won't have to worry about drug screens. - Queens_CarriageExplorerto maintain a CDL you must have a dot physical every 2 years if you have high blood pressure every year, uncontrolled blood pressure no CDL. Diabetic with insulin I don't think you can get one. 26,000 lbs, you must have a cdl. Air brakes, they have a air brake test. Now you here this on the internet. So you know it is true. Ha, HA.

Come on Chief when did you start believing scuttlebutt.......The states control driver licenses not the federal government......
LOL! Okay, you're right, but when has that stopped the Federal Government? States control gun laws too with the exception of interstate commerce. Opps, I mean states used to control gun laws. More and more is being taken away. - rk911Explorer

true enough but the feds are not above extortion. anyone remember the 55-mph speed limit? - Retired_SailorExplorerLike I said, I thought it was a rumor for all the reasons stated and a few more. I do know how the Feds love to push stuff on the states, though. Thanks for the beating!! :)

- HondavalkExplorer IIYa but I heard on the Internet ...............so it must be true. Bonjour.
- sch911ExplorerCommercial only! If I'm trailer tow testing a prototype vehicle and trailer and I'm over 10k I must meet DOT requirements (inspections/logbooks/etc.), and state licensing requirements (Chauffeurs/CDL). CDL requirements are state by state, not a federal thing. BUT! If i'm pulling a TT with my own Grand Cherokee and over 10K no special requirements are needed....
- Francesca_KnowlExplorerYou're right. It's just a rumor.
And I think that you and your RV dealer contact might be able to take credit for starting it, because I can't find anything else about it on the whole internet!
