I had that happen to me once as well - you're not alone! Thanks for doing the good will of letting others know. Thankfully with my incident, it was a container probably too small to deter a bear anyway, but just from the heat inside the car it apparently went off. It was on the floorboard behind the driver's seat in a passenger car, so it didn't do nearly as much damage. I did remove all the seats and had everything laid out on the lawn, and scrubbed with Dawn dishwashing soap (I didn't know what else to use, but it worked). I thought my incident was unique, but apparently it wasn't!
