Installing a new out let in the kitchen.The outside outlet has 3 wires going to it you can see under the kitchen counter.I found the one with the most slack but it looked if you cut it into the end would look like a figure 8 to thin in the middle to have a ground wire in it.Went ahead and used one of the other ones to tie into.Does anyone have idea what it is?Looks like it goes through the floor as near as I can see.

If it looks like this the middle conductor is bare copper wire. The HOT (Black) and Neutral (White) carry the only insulation. Black to Brass and White to Silver if your outlet has screws. Ground to Green.

I would say it is a 12 volt circuit feeding a slide-out, jacks, or awning.It could be brake type two conductor cable.What kind of rig? Make and model?

Is's coming out of a 120v outlet,two rounds bonded togather,looks to small in the middle to have a wire in it.It's not regular romex.

Did someone scab in some kind of device?

Meter them, could be 12V dc or 120V ac W/ no ground

I will add to look closely at the wire to make sure that it is only two wires.
Then check to see where it is connected in electrical panel, 12 volt DC or 120 volts AC.
Check to see where other end goes.

What you described is known as Zip cord. It's probably 2 conductor but I have seen them have a ground. Used on lamps and fully-insulated tools. Someone added something that isn't factory. Follow it to the end and find out what's attached.

sounds to me like he better contact an electrician. don't sound like he should be fooling with this hisself.

Thanks for all the suggestions.After opening three of my access panels I found the other end.It connects to the so cord that goes to the slide.It does have ground wire in it.It is the only 12 ft. of 120v wire in the whole rv that is shaped like that on the outside,the rest looks like a normal flat romex. Thought inquiring minds minds would like to know the outcome.And I didn't even have to CALL AN ELECTRICIAN!
