- skipncharExplorerIt can if it's a big enough Inverter AND you have the battery power to operate it. MOST don't have both of those though.

Me neither.
if this is an LP fridge, i have never seen one with that small a heating element - FredzoExplorerWe also need to remember that, generally, the higher the potential output wattage, the higher the idle current.

My RV is a class b motor home. It has a 400 watt inverter, my fridge is rated at 135 watts. I have not purchased the crockpot yet. Thought it best to ask the question before purchasing a small coackpot that we do not need at home. Needs to be small to fit in my sink.
The math 400 - 10% = 360 - 135 watts for the fridge = 225 watt for crockpot.
Does this math sound right.
is this a "120v compressor fridge" or this a propane fridge
IF 'compressor' have you ever run the fridge on inverter only
normally compressor start up can be 5 times or MORE than the run power
in which case, the fridge could tipped the overload on the inverter, with the crock pot plugged in, you will arrive with out hot food and with the fridge shut down
if this is an LP fridge, i have never seen one with that small a heating element
if it is LP, yes you can safely run it on LP while driving - Horizon170ExplorerI have 1200 watt inverter running off of two gp 27 size batteries and sometimes that isn't enough. If I had it to do over I would have bought a 2000 watt inverter.
- rocmocExplorerWe already had a couple of shore powered outlets in the rear of the rig. This is where my better 3/4 uses her blow dyer & hair iron. I added an additional outlet in the kitchen for the coffee pot and any thing else we may wanted to use (crock pot, vacuum cleaner, electric heater & etc). IMHO we did not want to run the heavy usage thu the inverter/converter. Our shore power outlets are also tied into our gen so never a draw on the batteries. We never use the microwave without starting the gen which is the only high usage appliance on the inverter/converter outlets. Just what we personally do!
rocmoc n AZ/Mexico - wolfe10ExplorerAre you talking about while driving or stopped. If driving, will your alternator output support an additional 30+ amp @ 13 VDC load?
If while dry camping, you will want to be conserving your batteries, so refrigerator to propane.
As far as whether both devices can be supported at once (while driving), add up the amp or watt load of each and assume that you don't want to run the inverter at over 80% of capacity. Then you can tell US if it will work.
BTW, I can't imagine a standard size crock-pot only taking 150 watts-- the power equivalent of running a big light bulb is not likely to cook much food. Yes, there are some small ones that likely are that wattage. - MEXICOWANDERERExplorerA 90 watt crockpot will make a great cup of soup.
- redwingfansExplorerNot so sure about running down the road with an open flame. A lot of people say that is a no NO!!
- 12thgenusaExplorerMy Dometic draws 350 watts on 120v AC. Measured by Kill-A-Watt. Use propane.
