- MEXICOWANDERERExplorerMy intention is to use the dash cam memory as an aid. There is nothing as frustrating as a large city with small street signs. Use my laptop as a playback of streets passed. GPS to coordinate distance. This is fordown here. In the states if I have enough warning time in heavy traffic I won't miss a crucial turn. Oth items seem to cost better than $250 total and I cannot afford that. I have to wait until midnight to get internet and the advertisements I see are either deceptive, confusing or both. It's a lot to ask for out of a single device.
And yes the dash cam is important. I know folks who place three individuals in front scouting for street signs down here. - fj12ryderExplorer IIIIs that while traveling, or is the "camera viewer" you're referring to a laptop, or tablet or some such? Is this the Cobra system you referred to earlier in the thread?

They do work at making it confusing. It says "with Google Maps GPS". That would make me think that it is a GPS, but I think it just allows you to see your position on Google Maps when you play it back on the device your using. Not real time GPS.
They could label it differently and make it a lot clearer, but I guess that would defeat the whole purpose behind it.
Here is shoot from my camera viewer. For some reason GPS is not showing current location. I will have to read more manuals. - MEXICOWANDERERExplorerClown? Bufoon? The last time somone who claimed to be "salty" called from The "Goat Locker". CPO berthing. One thing I refuse to do is engage in is name calling or labelling. A phrase "suggesting of racism" is not the same thing as being labelled a racist. Maybe you got up on the wrong side of bed. Maybe your disposition encourages you to disparage others. Drop it, OK? I can kid around. If it upsets you don't read anything I write. I did learn from MOST of this thread.

I saw an ad. I sought advice. The rest of you are foolish? Now what does THAT have to do with Mexico? Your answer reeks of racism. I would like a dash cam AND a GPS, but one that I can HEAR. Don't know about you but I learned a lot here. The first being a dash cam PLUS a GPS costs more than $150. That this product may not be such a good deal.
Make sure you read what exactly they are selling.
Popular dash cameras have GPS for recording your position and speed, but this is not GPS you can use for navigation.
I have no doubt such thing might exist, or will come on the market soon as we can see there is a market for it, but don't confuse 2 different things. - SaltiDawgExplorerRacist? You've got to be kidding. You play the part of a clown here on a near daily basis - usually sprinkling stereotypical innuendo and then you attempt to play the race card here?
Incredible.
Read the thread - you asked about Dash Cams. Period. Some have GPS to allow speed info to be recorded on the video. Some also, I believe, use GPS to allow reconstruction of location in the recorded video.
No Dash Cam, of which I am aware, serves also as a NAV. That said, there are some combined units that were not even mentioned here.
Also, there certainly are Dash Cams with GPS available for under $150.
You don't know me as evidenced by your suggestion that I made a racist comment. I will go back and amend my post to clarify my meaning, but if you are going to continue to play the buffoon and then call someone a racist then I think you should rethink your motives. - MEXICOWANDERERExplorerI saw an ad. You start a thread about a Dash Cam, the rest of us foolishly reply, and now you change the subject to a GPS NAV ?????????????
Must be a Mexican thing?
EDIT: I apologize to all for making the above comment. MEXICOWANDERER takes offense and called me a racist. I had no such intent, and I again apologize to one and all that may have been offended.
As an aside, I do not even know the race nor ethnicity of MEXICOWANDERER. - MEXICOWANDERERExplorerBUT BUT BUT
Can I get a GPS that can be connected to roar out of a loudspeaker. Not a joke. I need loud Loud LOUD (and clear). If I need orientation I'll pull over to the curb and study the screen.
