Induced power from nearby lines??

I fought the power lines for 2 years. I now know WAY more than any human being should about transmission lines.

"Stray Voltage"

They are supposed to ground them every 1/4 miles and they DO NOT.
The SO-CALLED (and it's not) safe distance determined by the power companies is 300 feet. Anything closer than that causes interference and dangerous stray voltage which actually occurs at any distance.

I sold my dream home of my life because of transmission lines and all what I found out about them.:(

They can not put power lines any where's near a school because it was proved to cause cluster cancer, yet it IS safe to put them by peoples houses....go figure. :R

I would NEVER park my MH near any transmission lines ever.

Now, several years ago, someone I knew, got his electricity from this source.
He owned quite a bit of property where the power line easement crossed.
He had a fence, I think to keep cattle in, part of it.
I don't remember all the details but he strung a wire or wires along this and there ws quite enough electicity to fill his needs. The Utility took him to court but the Judge dismissed it. I've seen Christmas lights strung, out in the woods with a small wire from near base of tower to tower providing the power, thirty years or so past.
There is a lot of energy from those high voltage lines with just the air insulating them.

I once visited somebody who lived almost right under the lines. For a magic demonstration, out on his back deck, he would hold a fluorescent tube in the air and it lit up (not at full brightness). When I dinked around with ham radio many years ago, I didn't know for a long time that the shut-off lights in the apartment below me would flicker dimly synchronized with my voice. Three girls lived there and it freaked them out pretty seriously.

Those overhead high voltage transmission lines (220KV-500KV) can definitely induce voltage...........they are not insulated------bare wire.

Get within 13' of them and you can become part of the circuit......which is not a problem as long as you are not grounded or within 13' of one of the other lines (phase to phase, phase to ground--------poof)

I remember reading a blog entry from an RV'er with an bus converted to a MH. He was parked under some lines and experienced what you did. He is an engineer and had the equipment and knowledge to do some testing and determined it was coming from the over head lines.

He moved to another parking spot.

I've read several other posts with shock/vibration stories and it turned out to be the pedestal or extension cord was wired improperly.

I had it happen once when I was washing the TT, it was a bad extension cord.

I agree with the "Move it" suggestion.

NOTE that the wire leads on many volt meters are long enough to pick up stray electric fields no matter where you are.. Kind of scary.

(Spent a good part of the day with a digital voltmeter in my hand.. Finally got the voltage I desired on the display.. had to re-build a wall wart).

If it was me I would move the trailer to another location not directly under under the high power lines and see if the same sequence of events still happens.
