- Yes not much for caps on this one.

Anyway if the thing is dying anyway a short equalization may boost it up for one more season.
Still have not determined why the battery needs it. time2roll wrote:

Battery should be fine to equalize. Do you have a hydrometer to indicate the process is needed?
If you have a Maintenance free battery, that means the caps are not removable. So, HOW do you then use a Hydrometer??????? Doug
And maybe that was the point. No hydrometer reading maybe it does not need equalizing.
Website is not real big on maintenance or charging specifications.
When I state removable caps, that means the Caps stick UP from the case. NOT flush where you have to use a screwdriver to pop them up. THOSE types you are not supposed to pop off those caps. Doug- SoundGuyExplorer

:h Trojan Battery Company freely uses the term "maintenance free", as does just about every other battery manufacturer. :R - MEXICOWANDERERExplorerHave not seen the moniker "Maintenance Free" but have seen "Low Maintenance". Delco had a slice of the group 31 market with their 3 models of all calcium battery. But big rigs matured into sleepers with mucrowave ovens and inverters. The all calcium battery fell flat on it's face. Now the word is AGM.
After 1954 Exide was gutted. Their engineers migrated to other battery manufacturers. Now that Germany is pounding out ultra quiet diesel submarines batteries are in vogue but Exide makes these batteries in India.
Oooooo I love my all calcium Gohner 45 amp hour toad battery. I trust it as far as I could throw it (3" when facing down wind). dougrainer wrote:

Website is not real big on maintenance or charging specifications.- MEXICOWANDERERExplorerI doubt even Exide is stupid enough to try and market a calcium/calcium battery as being a cyclable battery. If the lid has no opanable cell caps and the battery has lost considerable capacity it's a goner. Never ever ever cycle a calcium/calcium battery cell caps or no cell caps.
"Extreme Duty" does not translate to cyclability. This could be a 1000 CCA engine starting battery.
Exide's world headquarters is in India.
Whether or not Exide is relabelling Mexican batteries is anyone's guess. LTH refuses to make calcium/calcium but Gohner does make them. Mexican mechanics sneer at Gohner brand.
Regardless. No filler caps and problems mean you have a battery trade-in core. time2roll wrote:
