Do you have a better answer for the upcoming fossil fuel shortage? OK, not going to happen in my lifetime, but it is going to happen. We MUST find alternatives to fossil fuel. Electric cars powered by fuel cells seems to make more sense but maybe nuclear is best! :W I am still hopeful that we will figure out how to fully harness the wind and solar power available to us or discover a new source we were not aware of. I call that discovery Plutricity and it will be the defining moment that turns around Global Warming and the end of mankind.:B

There is no "upcoming fossil fuel shortage", that is a dream of a bunch of supposed "scientists", lawyers, environmentalists and gov funded which created these lies way back in the 70s.. Back then we where SUPPOSED to have run completely out of crude oil world wide before 2000..

Hasn't happened, in fact, completely NEW sources have been constantly found over the years and new ways to tap into these new found resources have been and are on going.

The USA IS sitting on some of the richest deposits of crude and natural gas..

Even the old oil fields of PA are STILL producing crude oil, many of the small producers have been run out of business by underhanded and unrealistic EPA rules and regs..

I have an old school mate who owns well over 30 small crude oil wells and pumps an additional 30 for other lease holders.. We are talking about oil wells drilled way back in the 1890s..

Even my local natural gas company owns their own gas wells, many also have been in operation since the early 1900's..

In reality, there have been some scientists who have looked outside the scientific box and have realized that crude oil and even natural gas is being constantly formed.

These "shortages" are MAN MADE and they are INTENTIONAL to drive up the cost of fuel and other goods made from crude and natural gas..

It is all about CONTROL, control PEOPLE by forcing them to do things and use things in a certain way.. There ARE folks who do wish to see EVERYONE get set back into the 1800s except themselves and their small circle of powerful people..

The one that controls all by restricting how, when, where they can go is the winner...

Folks keep falling into the trap set by thinking EV cars will solve all the worlds problems.. They won't.

Keep falling for it and eventually you will be using old Nelly as transportation and reading by tallow candles and smart phones and Internet, forget about that..

I believe he means 3.43 times the total output of the Hoover Dam.

Cars X size battery bank = Watts (assumption 90 miles used daily)

20 M x 30 k = 600 Gigawatts

Of course that is assuming everyone drives that mileage every day.

As of Oct 2017 there were only 337,482 electric vehicles in California.

So, again based on 30 KW per day the current consumption is 10,124,460,000 or 1.124 Gigawatts. (please check my math someone--feeling old and tired)

Do you mean 3.43 of the generators used at Hoover, or 3.43 of the total output at the dam? If it's 3.43 Hoover generators, that strikes me as pretty reasonable.

So you buy into fossil fuel theory eh? Personally I think of it as "mantle lube" and when its gone that will be the least of our worries. However it will be along time before that will be an issue.
