No the point is there are no Correctly installed grid tie solar, that are
'Technically wrong'
Correctly installed grid tie cannot back feed to the grid
They do feed surplus to the grid while utility power is connected

Since this is a brick-throwing contest, I'll say that "There was nothing about solar" is exactly what was wrong with the original unqualified backfeed statement.

I, as the OP, was being hypothetical. I was actually just being curious about whether or not it would work. I would not actually do anything that may endanger anyone. I would expect that if I lost shore power, the load from the house would quickly overload the Honda. Opening the main breaker to the house from the power company would quickly test this.

With respect to mixing different Honda EU's I can say for a fact that it will work. I used one EU3000is and two EU2000i tied in parallel for many hours to run both air conditioners in my fifth wheel. Never in the econo mode. September tailgates in Alabama can be murder when the temps are still in the mid 90's.

There's a youtube video out there of someone experimenting with a Honda 1000i or 2000i and various power sources. I think he used mains power briefly (proof of concept), but for sure he used an inverter.

As I recall, as long as the other power source was energized first, the Honda had absolutely no issues syncing up and sharing the load.

Grid tie inverters will not turn on if grid power is off
No grid power, the inverter disconnects from the solar
The grid tie inverter is a mandated safety device
A grid the system will not produce power and back feed and kill the linemen, during a power failure a grid tie house has no electricity, just like everybody else
