First thing I'd do: With the trailer hooked up, I'd pull the emergency cable pin out and make sure the brakes are locked up which will take them out of the trouble shooting equation. If not, you might have a brake or wiring problem on the trailer itself.

I tired this but I had no current to the brakes, I have a blue wire and a white wire that are pigtailed into the switch, the white wire reads hot when I'm not connected to the truck and the blue wire reads nothing, even if I pull the pin for the emerg. brake
