The question was heaters on AC or LP, which I will assume includes WH.
A factor for me is 30amp vs 50 amp. If 30 amp, you are limited to 2 appliances, not starting at the same time. You could try 2 space heaters and 1 elec WH. You might get away with it for a while but eventually they will come on together and trip the CB.
Well, I reread the OP's original post, and yes, it's a bit confusing. I was under the assumption he was talking about water heaters.
But just so all bases are covered, here's how I deal with electric heat: It depends upon the outside temperature! I think for heating the camper, electric is cheaper, but not as efficient. Electric heat is a great supplement to the propane heat. But ... unless you've got several space heaters, or one gigantic electric furnace with forced air, and if the temperatures drop cold, a single space heater will do very little.
However, as a supplement to your propane, it's a great help. When the temperatures are not too cold, electric space heaters are nice to take the chill off, although slower than a furnace.
At home, in our driveway, where we pay for the electricity ... we use electric space heaters until they can't keep up any more. Then we flip on the gas furnace and let them work together. I think by far, the electric is cheaper than gas, but there again, a single electric space heater or ceramic heater is not enough to really warm anything when it's really cold. 30 amps gets used up pretty fast, especially when running electric heat supplements. Propane will allow you to use all the functionality of that 30 amps as it runs off the 12 volt system.
