We have a two slide system that is hydraulic operated with a single electric motor driven pump. Upon bringing in the slides the first one moves fine and then the second larger one starts moving normally about half way then the motor stops. After a few seconds I tried again and it moved a little more then stopped again. Tried it again and it completed the trip. When running, the motor and pump seem to be running normal speed and not dragging. It just stops prematurely without me releasing the rocker switch. Any ideas what is going on here?

Does the manual override work?If not, you need hydraulic fluid. Add a little at a time because when they retract the fluid goes back in the canister. In other words... don't top it off when the slides are out. Don't ask how I know this.

Thanks Rob but the battery is new and it was plugged in to shore power. Also, it does not drag or slow down, the motor just stops. I would have thought fuse but then why would it come back on?

Thanks Chandelan. Fluid level is fine. I suspect something electrical because the electric pump either runs or it doesn't. While it is running the slide is moving. Problem is it won't keep running even when the rocker switch is continuously depressed. After waiting a few seconds it will start up again momentarily then stops abruptly again.

I agree with replacement of fuse with same amp rating as original.

However, I respectfully disagree with suggestion of using a higher amp fuse. This has potential of causing wires to burn into before blowing fuse (if an electrical short develops).

Thank you Doug and Camperguy I will checkout the breaker and replace with a stronger one if necessary. Hopefully that will solve the problem.

X2 on the fuse. Replace with a bigger one or at least another one that might work better.

MOST systems like you have, they have a auto reset 12 volt circuit breaker supplying the Pump assbly. IF the battery is low or weak, the Power Converter has a hard time supplying the needed amperage to run the Pump motor under load. FIND the 12 volt breaker/fuse that supplies your pump. Odds are it is weak, or you can bypass it to test if it IS weak or is tripping due to 12 volt power supply problems. LCI(Lippert) systems are especially prone to this type problem. Doug

Chandalen, I already checked the wire connections at the pump for tightness. I don't remember seeing a switch right at the motor but will check. That would be a good way to prove the inside switch. Thanks for the tip.

JwmII, that sounds plausible. If that is the case then it would lead me to question why the over-temp. Too much drag on the slide or motor just worn out. Anyway I appreciate your comments.

Thanks Rekoj. The system is hydraulic. I am not aware of a limit switch. Normally when the slide reaches the end of its travel you can hear the pump labor and slow down an we know to release the switch. This is the first time we have experienced this in the ten years we have owned this trailer. I'm wondering if there is a thermal protector in the motor that could be tripping then resetting after a few seconds. That component could be getting bad or maybe the motor is failing. Who knows.

From your description it sounds like the pump motor is over-temping. After cooling it automatically resets and starts again only to shortly stop again since things are good and hot and the cool down period is not long enough before resetting.

Check the wires from batt to the pump. Are they secured and tight?

My pump has a button on it as well as the inside one. Does the pump stop of you use that button (if you have it)

I'm unsure about all hydraulic slides, but mine will keep pushing as long as the button is pressed. However, the fuse will blow after about 5 seconds of holding it when the slides are all out.
