Steps on a 2003 Itasca Sunflyer

Our steps stopped working. The Light doesn’t work so I’m thinking something electric.
Any suggestions?

Are these Kwikee Steps? If so, look under the part of the step that actually bolts to the bottom of the entry area. Find the Control Unit, a black plastic box. Box itself is square, but the newer versions of the step use a Box with an extended mounting tab on it. Looks like a triangular "fin." The earlier one mounts with its crews closer to the Box, no "fin." Newer "with fin" service guide is Manual #888 Fin shows in Figure 3.
The "no fin" service guide is
Manual #875 No Fin shows in Figures 1. and 2.
This Notice discusses the difference between the steps covered by #875 and those covered by #888
Finally, here's Kwikee's Troubleshooting Flow Chart

Ours is powered through a circuit breaker off the coach battery. When ours malfunctioned, first time it was a bad ground connection. Another failure was one of the gears in the motor assembly. I was able to repair it with a Ford Power Window Gear Fix Kit.

You're welcome, but Did You Fix It? Hopefully Yes and if so What Did You Do?

We had two failures on our Kwikee Steps using Manual 875. The first failure, was the Step deploying and retracting at random on the road. Turned out to be a poorly crimped wiring connector. No parts but a couple new butt connectors. Second was the "slip clutch" in the motor gearbox broke up. Fixed it with a HELP line kit from the auto supply. Hopefully yours went easily and well!
