Vacuum toilet flusher

Just bought a new 2016 Bounder and WOW!, thought I was in an airplane when first went to the 'privy'. What a noise it makes as it works to produce a vacuum-sometimes it 'cycles' in the middle of the night and wakes us up. Anyone else have "airplane shock"?
  • We have used ours for 1.5 years fulltiming (i.e. a lot). A few notes:
It shouldn't 'cycle' at night. If it is, you probably have a water leak.
You must keep the seal clean and watch out for bits getting stuck. If you hear it 'cycle' when no one is using it, there may be just enough of a gap for water to very slowly leak through. That will eventually cause the pump to operate - 'cycling'. Just clean the black ring with a toilet brush and flush - it should get whatever is stuck loose.
At 10,000 feet, it takes at least twice as long to flush as at sea level.
If you have more water in the bowl before flushing, it flushes faster.
If you don't want the noise at night, turn it off. One quick trip to the loo at night won't break it. You can still dump it down the shoot, it just won't 'cycle'. Just remember to flush in the morning.
We love ours - no odor from the black tank. BUT, if your black tank gets too full, it won't flush. It can happen at the most inconvenient time...
  • We have it in ours and had the same concerns you seem to. We really disliked it. I even called the manufacturer to see if the recharge should take so long. It just took us two or three trips to get used to it and now we are very glad we have it. It was just something new and we had to get used to it. Ours did not have a sprayer, but we had one added to make it even better. Wanted to add that we don't flush ours at night so it does not have to recharge.
