Well, the new inverter could have a higher cutoff voltage for the low voltage alarm.

His batteries could have been much further discharged than previous attempts with the 750W unit.

the cables with the new inverter could be inadequate for either case.

RJ, I think the new inverter may have a fairly high voltage cut off compared to the old inverter. Low voltage is the error code.

Another issue is that you likely have a MSW (modified sine wave) inverter, not one that make a sine wave like the voltage from the power line. Let's just say that MSW inverters and microwaves are NOT the best of "friends". Without getting into lots of details, running a microwave on a MSW inverter usually requires a bigger inverter than you might think or calculate.

A PSW (pure sine wave inverter) inverter and microwave are good "friends"

That's the biggest problem with 6 volt batteries, they are in series, so the current draw to handle a big load is passed through both batteries. With 12 volt batteries, each battery provides half the current draw because the batteries are in parallel instead of in series.

don't worry the 6V won't "explode" they will very easily supply 75A continous. They do that all the time in golf carts. In fact you can get 150A from a pair without damage, but with lots of internal voltage drop.

However, you are correct, trying to get 150A from a pair of GC without dropping the voltage to low, requres that they be around 75-100% charged, probably closer to 100% than 75%. To low a state of charge (lower voltage) internal resistance (more voltage drop) of a pair of Golf carts will likely trip the low voltage alarm on the inverter. For 150W you really need 4 golf carts or a pair of 12V.

Been there, done that, and 2GC for 1000W (90A) was problematic. Going to 4GC and home free.

Yes, 12V are much better for high current draw. That plus being in parallel helps as well.

Typically with two GC's and a heavy load, the lowest the batteries could be at is ~75% SOC to stay above the inverter cut off. Could be your batteries were too low at the time or, like what was said before, your inverters continuous rating is lower than what it states.

Wire is marginal but adequate. Battery is under rated. You need four GC2.
Can't find low voltage cut out specs but as said above GC2 is made for about 75 amps max (750 watts). So voltage on the battery is sagging maybe a volt and another .5 in connections puts you down at 11 give or take. Take some measurements to verify.
