- waykatExplorerI had the same issue on my 2010 Ford SD. The problem is a leak in the weatherstripping/seal on the windshield. Dealer could not replicate it as it only happened in a crosswind. To solve, narrow down where the affected area is by taping the seal until it stops. When you find the area that has the problem you can buy a Flowable Window Sealer silicone (I got it on amazon) for like 6 to 8 bucks to seal the area. I did this and the problem is solved!
- Bob__BExplorerI have a humorous story that I hope doesn't detract from the thread too bad.
I got a call from my daughter LATE on night .... She is saying the car makes a very bad noise above about 50 MPH :h....After a little discussion I told her to drive it on home below that speed.
Next day I took it for a drive ans sure enough a very loud noise coming from widshield area.....looked down and could see a leaf flapping wildly making a lot of noise... :S
(I had impressed on her when she started driving that she needed to pull over and call if there was a problem instead of continuing to drive and ruin the vehicle......So I didn't give her any grief about it.....wanted her to keep doing what she had done.) - K_MacExplorerA few more decibels of Marshall Tucker, problem solved,at least temporarily. Haven't noticed at least not yet on my 13' F 350.

Correct, my '13 F250 has a similar noise.
Now if you could tell me why sometimes it makes a continuous buzzing noise after being shut off if the key is in it.
Sounds almost like the fuel pump but not quite as loud. It will humm IndefinTely until the key is removed but only sometimes.
Too much electric chit on these new trucks! Lol
My 2011 F350 did the same thing also my wife's 2011 Toyota Highlander would do the same thing also. Never did figure it out. - BubtoofatExplorer

My wife's new Equinox does a similar fuel pump type noise but under the hood. On for 3 or 4 seconds then off for 3 or 4 seconds then repeats. I don't know how long this noise lasts as I got bored and went in the house. Gremlins I suspect.

The dealer service centers in my area know all about this problem and had both mine fixed in a day. Simply pulling up the rubber seal/molding and filling the void underneath with sealant. I tracked the problem down by placing duct tape on various area until the sound/vibration went away.
- AnEv942NomadWell finally going to fix the offending piece and it is gone.
Not sure on the years, on our 01 Ford there's are 2 plastic with rubber bulb attached, trim pieces, they clip to the backside of cowl plastic facing windshield, in the middle was a third piece joining them. I don't know what they really do. They just set there-sorta filling gag between plastic could halves and glass, keep leaves from sliding past cowl and windshield but not water tight. As far as debris getting under the cowl trim they are full of slots so that's ineffective. Guess I need to take a picture.
Was going to glue as it was loose, now gone, but it still will whistles. I believe on ours its air rushing over hood and the joint between the 2 cowl trim pieces, hitting, I thought, the little clip between the 2 "wipers". Taping had resolved but now unsure, with the center clip missing, maybe its just rushing over the joint. It can be really loud.
Im wondering with the piece gone the 2 rubber thingies starting to flop just removing, use a pieces of foam tape between the 2 cowl halves as their is a very small gap between the overlapping halves, perfect whistle...jeessh simplest things.. - Butch50ExplorerYears back in 2002 I had a Chevy dmax and I added a front bug deflector and started to get noise from mine around 60MPH. I tried different things and finally came up with it was the moulding around the front window shield. I tried using some duct tape along it and the noise went away. I took it to a glass shop and they added some of the windshield sealant under that trim and the noise was gone.
Now I know it is a different truck and all but maybe Ford used some type of sealant and it has dried out allow for the trim to start flex. Just a suggestion. - taycotrainsExplorerI got the same problem with the same year truck and same motor....wasted a whole Saturday trying to figure it out.finally gave up...very interment and FWIW....started only after I put the TC on.
