How many 6.0's and 6.4's did Ford produce over that 9 or 10 year span? Now, of all those diesels, how many had problems? I bet it was a small percentage of trucks. Might be a large number, but its an overall small percentage. Now... with the 6.0 failures, how many involved vehicles with some type of chip or other performance "upgrades"?

At the end of the day, Ford sold several million 6.0 and 6.4 diesels. They have a lot of satisfied customers who never came on the internet to hear the loud minority complain about a few problems. I have several friends with 6.0 and 6.4's that have had ZERO problems over hundreds of thousands of miles driving and towing.

New to these forums but realize the typical naysayer dooooshes don't post what they drive in their sigs, pvsssys without a pair. I mean, it's about what we drive here, right? Your old lady on your arm is ugly, mines at home hiding. Convenient.....

LMAO, hell, they sold almost 150,000 Yugo's in the US. They must be better than the Rolls with those kinds of numbers! :R

Everyone who owns and enjoys their Ford truck should realize by now that you cannot have a decent discussion on Ford trucks on this forum because the haters will show up with their mythical horror stories from their BIL's cousins BFF who knows all about Ford trucks. The 6.7L PS and the 3.5L EB are enjoying a good reputation and reliability out in the marketplace where it counts and it translates to sales every month. They have a good diesel now. I am on my 2nd 6.7 liter and absolutely no problems with either one.

So if they have all been good, why is this thread here about the fixes that are coming out on the 2015 6.7? I would call all of these new trucks "MHEW" trucks if one plans to keep it for a long time. "Must Have Extended Warranty"

Most of the 2015 changes are due to the increase in power rating.

So Ford is not replacing broken turbos, valves, injection pumps,and sensor on existing 6.7's? Great I guess the forums that have threads on these type issues are confused.

Not sure your following the discussion correctly...

The upgrades listed for the 2015 are due to the power increase and to get a stronger exhaust brake. That was the question posted about the upgraded turbo. Ford fixes sensors,turbos etc... just like everyone else. Try to be a little less pedantic.

The internet is a good tool to determine; if there will be an issue with a vehicle what it might be. It is not a good indicator of relative percentages. There will always be the Google assassins that that formulate an hypothesis and seek out only the evidence that proves it. The trick is using your best judgement to discount the individuals with an agenda. They often have good input just over the top with hyperbole and brand bias.

Spoken by a 7.3 owner. Why have you hung onto the old POS truck. Maybe you did not want a 6.0, 6.4 or 6.7?

My son is the head Ford diesel tech at his dealership. Talked to him last night and asked about his experience with the 6.7. They have not had a single injection pump or turbo replacement. They have had a "few" EGR problems with service vehicles that had many hours of idle time. They did have an early one with a cam/valve problem.
