Again, those ratings (MTWR, payload, cargo capacity, etc) are all based or derived

Unless you have or will purchase the stripper model...it will weigh more than the curb listing
Many will advise that the 'new' labels list 'actual' weight of the vehicle, but
after taking about an hour to educate myself that just maybe the OEMs are now
weighing the vehicle at the end of the assembly line...found buried in the documentation
that the OEMs are still using the 'curb' weight, which is the stripper model
with one 150 lb driver and full fluids (most, but some only half a tank)
Respectfully, the TREAD act sticker DOES state specifically what how much passengers and cargo THAT vehicle can carry (VIN is printed on the sticker). It is what is left after the base vehicle and all options are subtracted from the GVWR. It includes full fluids and gas but no people.
It is not necessary to weigh each vehicle as it comes off the assemble line, the mfr knows EXACTLY how much EVERY part weighs, and what every option weighs. They can start with the base curb weight and add options, subtract from GVWR, and that is what is left for people and cargo. This number will be different for every vehicle depending on the options.
There was a post on another thread recently regarding cargo / payload. The poster was directly involved with implimenting the TREAD act requirements for a mfr and stated the number printed on the sticker had to be accurate to actual within something like 3 pounds. So yes, it IS vehicle specific.
