But that's not an '06 dually or even the same body style at all.. The fuel filler isn't in the same place.
I agree. That is a Gen II body style made until 2002. From what I have read and been told the Gen III body style is the issue and that would include the 2006. - burningmanExplorer II

The fuel filler isn't in the same place. - Yeti_plusExplorerAs others have said it takes very little time to unlock and unclamp a Fastgun. I leave mine hanging from the camper and put the lock on the drivers seat, so I don't forget to reconnect everything. Was at a gas station where they pump the fuel and I told the guy that it was just a very expensive fuel tank lock!!!
Once you have done it a few times it is easy. We are still travelling and have put 26,000 km (16,000 miles) on the truck since the end of May with another 5000 or 6000 to go and I haven't noticed it being an inconvenience. - d3500ramExplorer IIIAs everyone said, it is not too much of an issue with Fastguns or similar. I had the same problem with my current truck with an early 90's pop-up. One way to look on the good side of it is that the Fastguns in front of the fuel door is that it is like having a locking gas cap of sorts.
One thing to make sure of: be sure where you put that Fastgun when you take it off. I used to set it on top of the rear tire. "I won't forget about it there" I said to myself. Wrong! I drove off once (and it only took one time) and it fell down and I ran over it.
The fastguns are very sturdy! It only bent the handle but they kept on a working and I stil use them today. After that episode I put it on the driver's side florr so I would never duplicate that error.
I may call the company and see if I can get a replacement handle: - towproExplorerI don't think so based on pictures I am seeing.
Maybe this is true on a chevy - covered_wagonExplorerIf you have chains and turn buckle instead, just install a steel 'C' bracket over the fuel door between the end of the chains/ turnbuckle.

Our Fastgun covers the fuel filler door as well but it will open enough to get the fuel hose in. I put a rag between the door and the fastgun to prevent scratching and we are good to go. I use to unhook the fastgun and that is a no brainer as well. I would not worry.
This, except I don't bother with a rag. So far no scratches on anything. No big deal to disconnect the fast gun if necessary.
Lots of other more important things to consider than this. - mellowExplorerSame here, I have always wondered about getting a flexible gas hose to attach to the fuel pump but always end up taking the turnbuckle off and putting it back on.
- White_WhaleExplorerGreat!!
Thanks
