Ok, I get that whole rebellious thing. In my day it was really long hair! I was never allowed because my Dad was a Marine!!

This whole paint everything black is ridiculousness! I like Chrome,, I learned the chemical process and understand it. I appreciate "Show Chrome" It's Beautiful!
The Murdered look (Black Out) looks really cheap! I used to run allot of demolition Derbies,, Spray paint covers allot of junk!! And the Darker the better..
Now the new move is to Paint anything Shiny, BLACK,, But what ever,, You can do some really quality work, Paint it flat black and when you drive by,, who's gonna care??
In my days,, Primer,, and cheap primer would now be the "Murdered" Look!!

I can't believe how many brand new pick up trucks I see on the road now a days and the front rims are completely black. They must put on the least expensive pads from china they can find at the factory. You sure didn't see that years ago.

Why so people except something like that? I'd be back at the dealership until they put pads on that didn't do that cause they shouldn't. If I paid $68,00 + it better not have black front rims!!

Brake dust does not equal poor quality. Like Turtle stated above, everything is a compromise. Good stopping pads often have more dust.

Yes, but they don't have too! MyX stops excellent and I got them hot a couple of times when I was out west a few weeks ago. We don't have to accept yesterday's technology with so many better braking options today.

People have to understand that just because a brake pad leaves dust on wheels does not make them cheap or substandard.

Brake pads have many, many, many parameters to fulfill. There is not one "best" material or pad to be had. In drag racing we will put one pad on that is just made for drag racing. For circle track racing we will use something entirely different. But for street use the manufactures have to hit a happy medium for all.

They all have their pluses and minuses. They may be great in one area but poor in others. The best pad for street use is a well balanced pad. IOW's one that does everything good but usually nothing great.

I've never waxed any rim or put tire shine on a tire in 45 years. It's a tire and a rim. Come to think about it, I've never waxed my truck either and it's a 1997.... Looks good still, Clearcoat is everything. With one exception and thats my polished Alcoa rims. I keep them shiny but I still don't wax them. I use Simichrome. Not OCD here.

I use Meguiars All Wheel and Tire cleaner in the purple bottle. Spray it on and hose it off, no scrubbing! Cleans tires extremely well also. The stuff is strong so be sure to follow the instructions to a T.

OP, if these things bother you; you need to go high tech.

Old Biscuit, you sound like me. Drive it like you stole it, live life to the fullest and forget the dust. I'm not going to look at your wheels anyway. Whether your on the road or parked in a cg.
