I have had both, there are pros and cons to each. Gas is simple and cheap to work on for me, diesel cost a...lot... of money to fix when broken. Buy what ya like, just know that the GM 6.0 truck that you now have will last everybit of 250k if not 300k. I dont buy into the theory that diesels last longer; its partly true, but every thing else on the truck breaks down, and most dont keep there truck past 200k anymore. So thats my thought, buy what you need and can afford and enjoy camping, because one day, we all may not be able to afford it anymore......
Great post.
This isn't the 70s when gas engines were shot at 75000mi.
Common thread among these, well, threads is that those that have owned & driven both diesel & gas give logical, balanced feedback and info whereas a) the diesel crowd who last owned a gasser in 1993 think diesel is absolutely perfect for every situation, and b) the gasser crowd who've never owned diesel think they're noisy, stinky, and you need a million dollars to maintain one.
