I understand about not having to lift the legs getting out of a truck but wouldn't you have to lift your legs even more getting into a higher vehicle like the F150?
Anyway, any crew cab F150 will do what you're asking. Whatever options it comes with are entirely up to you. - Sport45Explorer II

Any crew cab F-150 (or equivalent truck from Ram or GM)should do.
Have you considered an Expedition with the same engine? - AlmostAnOldGuyExplorerOne option I went without, but think would be helpful is the rear view camera. I use an aftermarket version to help me hookup, but the built in versions are nicer. After renting a car with one it is helpful to have a better view, particularly if you are in a busy parking lot.
As mentioned pick a gear ratio for milage. If you stick with two wheel drive you will lower cost, maintenance and improve milage. I like the 36 gallon tank and in 2012 that was only available in 4 wheel drive. That worked for me as I needed 4wd anyway.
One feature of the ecoboost I really appreciate is how quiet it is cursing down the highway with low rpms.
Good luck to you,

- 1wayhighwayExplorerWhy? Just for the motor? if you don't need the bed of the truck but want space why not a suburban?
- ib516Explorer IIIf you're going to use it for a "car only" and are stuck on getting an F150 - get the 3.7L V6 version. You'll save some money buying and likely get better mpg.
- tragusa3ExplorerI like the "Flex" recommendation!
- jerem0621Explorer IIShop for one with the 3.31 for max MPG! In a non towing setting.
Heck, the 3.7 is rated for 6400 lbs towing and has over 300 hp!
Thanks and good luck! - tragusa3ExplorerI really enjoy mine! Don't think it would have been my choice if not towing. Don't listen to the folks pissing on it. There have been a half million sold, and the problems have been minimal by all automotive standards.

The F-150 EcoBust is currently experiencing design problems that the Ford engineers seem to not be able to solve, at least 3 TSB fixes over that same number of years plus the current fix which is beginning to look like yet another failure.
Goggle:
F-150 "drill a hole"
All of my friends who have them love them. One of those trucks did have the condensation problem. Ford replaced the intercooler and re-flashed it, and the problem went away completely.
