Going down to 4 above on Monday

I blow and go, pour a little pink stuff in the drains you're good. Here we have not seen the ground since mid nov and thats normal. Should hit 30 something sometime in april. I do it this way every year never had an issue. If there are a few low spots that collect a little water no big deal that gray plastic, or pex can take a lot. Now if you have copper thats another issue. Find some new stuff to worry about. I have mice again. Trapped 2 so far. Hope they did not get busy before I got them. I have also shoveled the snow off the roof twice. When it gets 18" to 2' I remove it. We are getting record cold an lots of snow like elswhere this year. I am rethinking that global warming deal.

I'm with "Freelance" on this winterizing stuff. We are on our 3rd TC in 25 years and we live in Stanley Idaho known for being the coldest spot in the Lower 48. I winterize the TC between every single camping trip as Stanley is known for only 25 to maximum 40 Frost free days a year. But winterizing is so easy...Hook up the Air Compressor to the Water Line turn on all valves and drain the Hot water Tank petcock. Air for five minutes and a little RV Anti Freeze in the Drains and Black and Gray tanks October through April....Air just seems so much simpler than all that RV Anti Freeze in all the water lines.

We are right here in Garnd Haven where we live and have for 72 years and so do our kids and many of the rest of the family. We nor any of them have had even 4" on their roof's or over 4" on the ground this year except for our daughter who's home is half way between here and Holland. She had 6" and we saw it with our own eyes. Still don't have 4" here and it's snowed most of the day today and just before dark I blew off the main driveway with it's less than 2" of snow on it. First time blowing it off since New Years Day. Not snowing here anymore now. Check: www.wunderground.com/history as it gives the entire daily history for the last more than 50 years. It says we got .17" of precip today which is 1.7" of snow. Takes 10 inches of snow melted to make 1 inch of water!

In 72 years of living in the area, I have yet to ever need to shovel snow off the roof or ever had 18" of snow on it one time or on any of our homes/building/businesses or the RV's!

Nearly all of the snow had melted between our finally white Christmas and New Years as it was in the upper 40's for 3 days straight. December 27th, 28th, and 29th and the 28th was bright hot sun all day. Check the records! Was bare ground here!

Yes, you are so right that we have had a very cold winter this year and so was last spring and this past fall. Very abnormal along the Lake Michigan shoreline in West Michigan but not inland 30+ miles. We freeze our butts off when we go to say, Lansing! Global warming? Hardly! Global chilling? very obvious!

31.8 F here at 7:57 pm and the low tonight is +23 F. The snow is falling south of here all the way down south in Indiana and Illinois (Chicago). You can watch it live on the color radar.

23 for a high tomorrow and +9 for tomorrow night. In the single digits above 0 F on Monday and Monday night and then is gets warmer again. So much for the below zero F BS I keep hearing.

You do not need to flush out all the water with pink. Pump out the fresh water tank till pump pushing air, add a container of pink, pump through, add some to drains and you are done. Air works as well but I like the pink in the pump to reduce the expansion.

As it is around here it is not that cold, only -28 tonight. Must be time for a barbeque.

I do the same thing. Air first then pump some pink stuff through the pump, some down the drains and a little for the toilet.

You had better get that bottle of Bulls Eye BBQ sauce off the BBQ or it is for sure going to freeze and also if you would please keep your cold weather up there and quit sending it down to us. :M :B

Butch I always like to share so sending our temps to everyone. The Bulleye came in with the burgers. It does get a little thick out there at those temps :B

No problem if the Bullseye freezes solid. The bottle is plastic, so just put it on the grate alonside the burgers and the plastic will melt giving you access to the sauce. Now move all the burger together and lay the sauce lump on top. Close the cover and let it thaw and flow over the burgers while you suck down a beer or two. Then yell: THE BURGERS ARE DONE, grabbing another beer on your way in with a big smile from ear to ear. You'll be a HERO!

HEY, just noticed! We have that same Char-Broil grill on our back deck but ours has a cover over it with about the same amount of snow on it. I better check to see if it's still there, ha ha. Haven't used it since before Christmas now. Been baking stuff in the oven for the holiday family get togethers.

Nutz; I am about 8 miles east. I live back in the woods with an 850' drive no sun back here its to low on the horizon. I left my leaf rake in the yard around deer hunting(Nov 15) ain't seen it since. If it helps you understand my camper sits on the east side on my garage with bonus room. The garage acts as a big snow fence. The snow blows off the roof and lands on the camper. Its nice to keep it there out of the wind and I have a plug there too. Not the place to debate the local weather but you been out lately? I have 24" in the yard. I think the guy on 13 said GR has had 54's so far. Now we know it packs and evaporates. Send me a pm and I'll shoot you some photo's.
