Snow, so where are the pics. Also what year,what model and what did you pay. I am sure we are all curious. At least I am. My 98 Lance came with a generac 3500 watt generator. It started and ran perfectly except after a load was on it for a while. Then it would malfunction. Fortunately for me I was planning on using my Honda eu3000 which I keep on a cargo rack on the front of my truck. I took out the genny and it made for great outside storage.

I owned a clean one about 7 years ago, bought it for 5,000 sold it for 5,000 in 2011. Like others have said, at that age condition is HUGE!!

I brought this home on Friday but can tell I am going to need some stabilzers either air springs or other. I put a set of airlifts on my 4runner and they seem to be solid product so will look into a set for my truck. As far as the camper it was $16,500 new with some options like winter package, presided for genset, electric jacks, etc. I looked under the sink And it looks like showroom condition no sign of water or vermin or even dust. Floor is solid roof is solid no evidence of infiltration anywhere. I am not sure how much the generator was used but paper says was installed in 1999. The hour meter in the cabin on the remote start toggle reads zero hours. How can I troubleshoot this? Generator fires up within 2 seconds and purrs like a kitten. Massaging our butts as we sit at the dinette. :)

That 5000 was the pretty much the same camper as our 1996 500, except the 500 came with a lot more options as stand equipment. I think we paid about $14k new with no generator.

Ours has been a great camper, but check the floor area around the door for weakness from water damage (as kohldad said). Ours never got it but some did. If you put it on a Ford Super Duty, you will need a 2" bed spacer. Also, expect to have to change out the sorry-a$$ Magtek converter/charger if it is still original.

It has an onboard onan LP microlite. Are these generators typically set up to charge the house battery when running? The seller wasn't sure as it was not directly used by them.

The unit I am currently in they were asking around 8500 IIRC. It was two weeks later I bought it for 5 or 5.5k.

good info and thanks for replies. in this region (Northwest) anything priced $2-3k is usually pretty beat. decent 95-98's are selling for $5-7k depending on size/options. anything in the 99 and up seems to be priced over $7k.

At that age it depends on condition and more importantly what it is worth to you. 2k-6k would be the mark with as Dave said, 4k being about average. If it's exactly what you want and in fantastic condition, I could see going as high as the 6k.

Be careful of the rear door area as they were prone to leaks there. Also, check for 1/4 round molding along the floor which is a sign the flooring has been replaced which is usually from extreme use or water damage repair.
