"ALL emissions will be under the truck"...what does that mean and how is that a benefit? I am assuming for ease of repairs, etc.?
No EGR as in no recirculating exhaust thru the engine. Everything will be after treatment. Improved mileage, HP and TQ to mane a few.
Thanks for the info...trying to learn as much about diesels as possible. That would make a lot of sense to work the components this way as I believe that a lot of issues are due to EGR's and the fact that half the Ford motors need to be taken apart to get to them, correct? Not sure what the Chevy situation is?
Thanks! - DakotaDadExplorer

Ram owner here. And not a naysayer, ahem. If you want a Ford, for whatever reason, even just for a change of pace, go get one and enjoy it. They're good trucks. So are the Chevys. So are the Rams. Buy any of them with no fear. Most importantly, buy the one you like the best. If that's a Ford, congrats! You'll likely be very happy with it!
You left out the part about ones DW getting a 51% and you a 49% saying on which one to buy.
Happy wife, happy trails!
It's even simpler than that. I like exactly what my wife tells me to like. Sure saves a lot of trouble!

From what I have read Fords 6.7 seems to be a very good engine. It had a few bumps at first but they quickly fixed them had it looks like they have yet another great Engine in their stable.
Unless you are dead set on the Ford I would take the other to out for a test run too. The fourth gen Ram and GM twins are just as nice as the Fords IMO. Not sure when the new D-Max is do out but it is getting a bit out dated compaired to the 6.7's in the Ford and Ram.

From what I have heard Ford, has hit a Home Run with this very " Internationally sourced " engine.
I guess you could say it's Internationally Made as in Mexico.
Amazing!!! And it only took 4 pages.:R
Not sure the relevancy of where it's made based on the OP's question. I believe the consensus of the responses is it has a great track record.
Relevancy as in I responded to Ryans comment. Don't like our or my comments there is a BLOCK button!!! - Cummins12V98Explorer III

" current 6.7 has proven to be the best Diesel Ford has produced since the 7.3."
Another interesting comment. Ford has not produced any of the previous 4 Diesels. 6.9, 7.3 6.0, or the 6.4. 6.7 is their own design.
I meant it's been the best diesel ford has used in the SD line since the 7.3 IH.
Maybe so but that is not what the words quoted meant. Based on what was said I responded with a factual statement.
But thank you for the clarification! - spud1957Explorer

Throw that in as well:) - ThreebigfordsExplorerI agree, no issues so far with my 2015 6.7 F450 after 45k miles. Our family of 4 will be loading her up for a 4k mile 13 western state road trip in about 2 weeks. Running from sea level to 14k feet and everything in between in the summer heat. Should be a good test.
I wouldn't hesitate to buy a 2017, in fact my cousin just picked up a 17' F350 CCLB, and his wife liked it so much, she ordered another one for her.
