Looking for solutions

The potential problem I see with a patch is if water stands on the floor. A solid sheet will not let water underneath, but a cut sheet will have seams to allow water through.

Maybe the patch to the cabinets, with good silicone, then trim strips.

I had the same situation. The vinyl was replaced right up to the cabinets. After a few years it started to curl up at the edges. I added wood trim that I screwed down with small brass screws. It looked just fine but it was a lot of cutting and fitting. I think this is still better than tearing out cabinets.

I agree....replacing the whole floor may not be the best solution depending on the location of the lump. If vinyl is cut and re-glued properly you will never see where it was repaired. It's not like the TT is 2 yrs old and you have fading and wear patterns that would make a patch obvious.

In the end whether they patch or replace, the quality of the job is going to depend on the skills of the techs that do it....if the guy at the RV shop doesn't know how to work with a vinyl floor, he will make a bigger mess replacing the whole thing than just patching it.

We purchased new a 2011 TT. After 10 months took it in to dealer for some minor warranty issues and the dealer adjusted the slide and it ended up ripping up our floor 18" in two places while at the dealer. We were never notified. After 2 weeks we were told they were waiting on parts. We still weren't aware of what happened. After 3 weeks we stopped in and were told what had happened. We decided at the time on a whole floor replacement. They cut the flooring around the cabinets. The manufacturer sent the wrong pattern flooring. Dealer installed without checking the flooring in cabinets or under the bed. We got our TT back 3 months later. Due to our excessive heat the replacement flooring started curling up around one of the cabinets and along the wall in bedroom. Took it back to the dealer 3 times to have the flooring reglued. We ended up trading in working with the dealer and purchased a new TT. Gave us an offer we couldn't refuse.

I have mixed feelings on replacement flooring unless sent back to manufacturer.

I take it you are talking about sheet goods, no individual tiles. unless there is a lined/tile like pattern any patch will look like a diamond in a goats patootie. as stated, get the manufacturer involved, and if you agree to a patch, put a stipulation in the contract that you can reject it.

I dunno, I mean I get it that it's new and under warranty but I wouldn't want them trying to replace the whole floor. Cut it and replace the part that needs to be removed, but I wouldn't want them pulling off the walls and cabinets to replace the flooring! :E

I've cut/replaced sections of floor in my trailer before, you can't even tell as long as you are smart about where you cut in.

Take photos and contact the factory. They will direct the dealer as how to fix/repair

Wasn't this in it when you took over it? Is it big or small? It seems strange for 4 months.
