Yes, great company to deal with and my experience is they will do everything possible to accomidate any warranty issues anywhere in the u.s. See my previous post on how the accomidated me with two blown expensive z rated low profile tires in the midwest. Outstanding service.

Since they have stores as well as nationwide online sales/installation it is pretty easy for them to accomidate replacements very quickly almost anywhere there is a tire store.

There prices may not be the absolute lowest, but integrity, service, and how they treat customers is worth it.

I have had discount tire replace 3 tires on cars in the past with the replacement warranty. It is a 100% free replacement, regardless of tire wear as long as it is (a) >3/32 tread left and (b) less than 3 years old. It is NOT a prorated warranty and covers anything that renders the tire not repairable.

In once case I had 35 series tires on a car that hit a partially exposed water main cap at about 20 MPH. popped one tire, big buldge on the other. In a small town in the midwest. Called Discount tire dealer where I bought the tires, they did a online check to see if anyone in nearby areas had the identical tire, nope, so they gave me two options.
(a) they could overnight replacements to a local tire shop to replace mine. problem was this was friday night I needed to leave on sunday, and Overnight really meant monday AM.
(b) I could purchase 2 brand new 35 series Z rated tires of my choosing, have them installed and when I returned home they would cut me a check for the tires mounting and balancing etc. , and replace them with the tires I had originally on the car.

I did option (b), I didn't need to even show them pictures or bring back the two blown tires, they had an appointment set up for me when I returned, and handed me a check for the tires, replaced the tires and i was on my way.

I also got Maxxis TT tires from discount and for $15 each the warranty was a no brainer, sign me up.

I don't go for the warranty on my truck tires, risk is low. but low profile car tires it has paid off, and peace of mind with TT tires, well worth it.

I took my TT up to Discount Tire this weekend and had the new tires installed. On the way, I noticed the rear driver side tire wobbling in the mirror when making a turn, so I kept to the secondary streets. These were Tow Master tires - 5 years old according to the date stamp and tread depth was like new. I asked the installer about it and he said it most likely had separated.

They mounted and balanced the new MAXXIS tires and it was a pleasure to tow. I spent the money on the warranty plus steel valve stems. This just in time for our next trip in a few weeks.

I just bought 4 new Maxxis tires for my 2013 Gray Wolf 26BH and let me tell you they made a significant difference in the towing feel. Right after I put them on I took a 2000 mile trip and was impressed with the difference in towing they made. This is my first set so I can't say other than all the positive reviews I've read here and many other places. I don't think you will be sorry.

On the warranty it sounds like a pretty good deal to me.

Over my decades of driving and buying tires, I have at times bought the "extended road hazard warranty". I've never really looked at it with total accuracy, but a pretty good guess would say for my case, it was a losing proposition. But then, overall, I have had very few tire failures or even flats. I normally never buy an extended warranty. The only place I have seen that it makes some sense is when buying anything electric powered from Harbor Freight :E:B

I agree that you will never see wear bars on ST tires. Age dictates when to replace. The TowMax tires that came stock on my TT have great tread, but with a manufacture date in 2010, it's time to replace them. Selling the old one on CL is a great idea - was going to give them away.

I agree with this.

We just went through this in April, and we got the extra coverage for $13 per tire (14 inch) on our new Maxxis tires. $65 isn't much in the RV world, and that covers five tires, against not just manufacturer defects, but also road hazards.

Maxxis gives 5 years, but the written policy from DT says 3/32" for ST tires.


Since ST tires generally need replacement because of age (5 - 7 years), seems like the DT extra policy is worthless.
