He doesn't get it? :S
Just wants to talk about diesels.
Unless they do something with the 6.2 what else would they do other than a boosted 5.0 for a Superduty gas engine. - RobertRyanExplorer

Look up duratork, inline engine used in the transit.Still need a replacement for the large gas.
That is why a sleeved down version of the 6.7 would make sense. The duartorq 3.2 used in the Ranger and Mazda here.
Pay attention - the large gas engine(V10) needs a replacement ,diesel is not a large gas engine.
The 6.7 AND a large gas engine is always offered in SD (F250 to F550) Gas is much cheaper and diesel engines offer no big advantage to some commercial and private users.
Nissan has just released a 5 litre Cummins V8', RAM is selling well with its EcoDiesel, Ford will be releasing its Diesel Transit etc
The same can be said for a V6 3.5 litre EB replacing the Ford V8 The replacement as Don has implied will be a diesel - hone_eagleExplorer

- RobertRyanExplorerCould Ford be doing the same as Nissan, with a sleeved down 6.7 Diesel to replace the
V10? Who would know they were doing that and it would make something of the knowing smile that Don got at the show - FordloverExplorer

As for the V8 Ecoboost/Ecobeast I can only report what I was told. If they choose to lie then that is on them. Sad if that is what he was doing IMO.

One thing that Mulally purportedly changed at Ford was showing their hand prematurely. His view was "why give your competitors a heads up to what your next move is?"
If Ford is exploring the possibility of a V8 Ecobeast, what possible business benefit could they gain by blabbing about it possibly years before it would be on the market? - gijoecamExplorer

I wouldn't call it lying so much as protecting proprietary and confidential information. All Ford employees sign a confidentiality agreement, and to reveal proprietary and confidential information could result in disciplinary action up to and including termination.
Needless to say, compromising company secrets is 'frowned-upon' by management for obvious reasons. :) - hone_eagleExplorerThanks for the pictures

I really think the engineer was correct on Ecoboost. That is because Ford trademarked Ecobeast. Therefore, the V8 could be named that, and the engineer is technically correct.
I am surprised that Don did not take and post the picture of the Nissan pickup bed with the fiver rails and goose neck.
I could not get up to the trucks, the one I could get to was not the diesel. I did post some picks and one shows where the fiver bolts to the frame. But it was the truck without the bed.
