- 2oldmanExplorer III got a bunch of hits on this board searching 'proflex.' Maybe something in here will help:
193 hits on Proflex - westendExplorerProflexRV technical data sheet. At average summer temps, the sealant can probably be worked successfully up to about 30 minutes. After that, it will be skinned over and be miserable to work. I usually work the bead into the joint immediately after I apply it since it is thicker than most sealants and I won't have to revisit a location.

Does it keep good if you don't use it all up at once, or does it dry up in the tube? - westendExplorer

It does not keep good in the tube, probably about a month with the tip sealed and in ambient temps. I've seen where others refrigerate it and have success. I actually use Geocel 2300 instead of ProflexRV. The products are nearly identical but I buy through a roofing distributor and prices are cheaper than RV parts distributors. Geocel 2300 has just a tad more elongation strength than ProflexRV.westend wrote:

I called the company and they said that they were identical.
To seal a caulking tube, I use a product that looks like a miniature condom. 7526A11

To smooth a bead of Proflex, try dipping your finger in mineral spirits. - DAVES_2500HDExplorerI used it last week for the first time..hard to work after 30 min. but used mineral spirits on tip of rubber glove to spread if running a bead on joint its great! very white! RV parts guy told me that this stuff loves to stick to silicone and spots where silicone has been removed..Trick spread proflexRV on previously siliconed roofcap trim to prime for Eterna-bond tape!!
- path1ExplorerI use the quart size (out of can) Do a good job of cleaning area to be applied. I use a cheap brush and find about 1/2 hour after that to sticky to apply or move around. Also have used a Q-tip in tight areas no problem. My only problem with pro flex is when you have to remove. What a job!!!
