Out of the four corners on mine, only one has a complete, clean weld.
The rest are incomplete or were too hot and burned through. Just sloppy. Good aluminum welding takes patience and skill.

Wow, the pics 19 to 33 are pretty sad, this outfit should be ashamed to turn out a product like this, it is plain to see in some of the pics when it came time to make a hole for running wires etc. they just smashed out the panel with a hammer... sick...
Oh there's more. That's just a random camper folder I made for quick uploads.

Personally I would have probed around to see if I felt the plywood roofing had softened before pulling the A/C off. Does it feel like the roof is soft underneath?
I haven't actually removed the AC. I all but broke the seal. Poked around inside and out and there's no sign of intrusion or softness.
In other words, it's a sealed separation. I'll need to watch it to make sure it doesn't continue to lift. It appears to be okay in so far as it hasn't busted open. We have lots of critters around here. Rats, mice, squirrels, etc. All it'll take is for one to claw or bite through that lifted part.
Thanks to everyone for the advice. I might have just jumped head first into a repair otherwise.
