I haven't had that from my salesman. I'd repectfully have to add that, as with any organization, individuals and their personality traits can form the impression one gets of the organization as a whole. My experience is based on my dealing with Levi Oglesbee.
I sat at my computer and called RVW on the phone. Levi merely asked if I had called to get the best price I could. I, of course, said, yes. He then said he would e-mail me a quote and added, "I know you're using me to beat up on your local dealer." I said, that's also true. He sent the quote in seconds. He then added, "If you are shopping for the best price, you'll find no one can beat that quote." I told him it would cost me money to round trip it to Ohio, so the local guy didn't have to beat his quote or match it, just come close. Levi said he understood and would call back next week to follow up. He didn't have to; I called him.
Arrogance and confidence are in the ear of the listener. I heard confidence; others may hear arrogance. Bottom line is his quote was no empty boast. I'm planning a trip to Lakeview, Ohio.
Shall I keep y'all posted on the process as it goes along? As of right now, the sales agreement is signed, deposit paid. I'm waiting on the preliminary estimate of a delivery date, which is schduled to be determined in the next month. Levi said the whole process should take about 6-8 weeks.
Teach - canusa99ExplorerWe bought our first camper from them. They are all nice until they have your $1000 deposit and then their true colors come out.
Their warranty department is a joke. I called for warranty on my water heater when it was still within the 1 year factory warranty and they told me to contact Suburban directly. Guess what Suburban said? Needless to say. I fixed it myself.
We just recently bought our second camper. I called them to get pricing and found that they were $3000 *more* than my local dealer. What they offered on my trade was an absolute insult. I wasn't going to buy from them, I just wanted to get a feel of what the going rate was.
I came close to getting my latest camper from Lakeshore RV in Michigan. Their prices are far better than RVW. - linnemjExplorer

Anyone ever deal with rv wholesalers in ohio?? Thanks
We just began the process. I'll keep you posted. Our trailer is due in about 6 weeks.
I plan on driving to Lakewood, OH, from Richmond, VA. It's 554 miles to save about 3 large.

When you get your unit, plan on spending the first two nights at nearby Indian Lake State Park. When you are camping, try everything in the unit. We did this and found the furnace vent was not open at the furnace so the floor vents were not getting heat. It was a quick fix when we drove back the 4-5 miles to RVW. - mwebber78Explorer

i had a similar experience, they are pretty arrogant BUT they do have great prices and they are willing to negotiate, which is great for me because i'm a negotiator, I love to buy stuff! In the end the deal broke down because the saleperson agreed to one of my demands and the finance guy wouldnt back it up. The arrogance came in at that point and they asked me if I planned on never camping because I wouldnt find the deal anywhere else they offered me. Well, like I said, i love to negotiate, I eventually got a better deal at the lot I ended up buying from.
Just keep in mind everything is negotiable, price, add on's, the warranty, and even finance charges (with good credit of course), dont be afraid to ask!
Believe me, others can and will beat their price without the arrogance and, IMHO, violating my ethics of treating people with respect. I was raised to not tolerate the type of trash talk, most of it lies, that they spread. - dsotmoonExplorer

From talking to my regular RV dealer in WV the warranty service on a towable RV is not the same as a vehicle warranty. If you buy a Ford you can get warranty service at any Ford dealer. He said that is not true with towable RVs. At that time, which admittedly was several years ago, he said he had the right to refuse warranty work on a unit that was not purchased from him. He said that it could cause a real hassle from the factory so what he did was told them that he would do warranty work but he would put them at the end of the line after his paying customers. Now whether this is still true or not today still would not stop me if I could save several thousand dollars. YMMV
I find it funny how dealers will say this in the hopes you will still buy from them. I would walk away from any dealer that would do this type of practice (you have to remember that when traveling you might need service 100's or 1000's of KM's or miles away from home. - tvman44ExplorerOnly the parts dept and very satisfied. :)
- mwebber78ExplorerI'm not a big fan of their RV sales, I've found them to be pushy about how "great" they are while they put down every dealer or brand they don't carry. Turned me off to them twice now. However, I've found their parts department to be very quick with great pricing.
I've had great customer service and no hassle sales from Terrytown/RVWorld and now with my Jayco RVDirect.
Best of luck. - JKQExplorerAlso purchased from Holman in Ohio. Drove up from Florida with our trade in, took possession of our new Enterra TT & camped on there grounds for 3 days to have any minor fixes taken care of. Best part was we saved thousands of $$.

Probably the best way to go if you don't mind traveling to pick it up. BTW all local dealers will use warranty and servicing scare tactics to discourage you from shopping elsewhere don't let them keep you from a good deal. Fear creates their monopoly.
Had great experience with Eddie at Holman RV.
