What's that???
I can't hear you with that thing running.
We picked one of these up from Cabelas for $425 a few weeks ago and boy is it nice. I had it in the back of the truck running the trailers air while working on the trailer when a neighbor came up to ask about it. It was only 4 ft from our heads and we talked while it ran. We were not talking in hushed tones but we were not screaming either.
As for the subject of the thread, it's great to hear someone has been using one for a few years. I'm a fan of any quieter generator for use in campgrounds. (solar makes mine VERY quiet) - VTRExplorerGreat little generator. Had mine two years, keep in mind I have a 16ft BH and it is filled with smaller appliances. The new ones do indeed parallel. We bought the trailer new and when I tried it with the air the first time (6000 BTU) and it did not work. I suspected the air unit itself, sure enough, dealer replaced. It started it with barely hic-up, this was great because when we pack it gets over 100 inside the trailer, that is when I want it most. I am located near Denver by the way. Anyway, it is very well made, clean assembly through and through. Bought it, un-boxed it, put gas in, second pull it was running smooth. We use it all the time once a day camping to top off the battery. The yammy engine is a plus, probably easy to get parts for that. It has done all I have asked of it and then some, quiet too. Rated at 49db, not sure about the power when linked, mine is older and does not have the capability, the new ones are laid out slightly different. Its the perfect size for this trailer, but I am a fan, I recommended it depending on your needs. I joined just to post on this gen., even from two years ago choices on generators have seemed to have exploded. I for one think it is good for the consumer. By the way, they have an app for this site? I think it is one of the friendliest and planned on joining anyway.
- BubbaChrisExplorerI considered this briefly, but it would only be good for me for 1 season. If I had any issues I'd have to return it to Costco and buy some other replacement. For my Honda, I can get parts locally and have them worked on nearly everywhere. Regarding parts, getting a high-altitude carburetor jet was vital as I have several boondocking trips planned at 7,000' or higher.
BTW, I was able to halve the cost difference in buying my Honda. Locally, Cal-Ranch is currently offering the EU2000i for $899 and I saved another $100 by signing up for their credit card during the purchase. - powderman426Explorer
