putting tape under new roof on edge

I am putting a new roof on my class C. i am going from a aluminum to a epdm roof. My question is the edges are 90 degree angle square on the sides where it pulls over onto the fiberglass siding. should i put some tape on that 90 degree corner UNDER the new roofing membrane to act as a "anti Tear". if so what tape would i use that would still bond to the roof? OR am i making a huge mistake and causing the roof corner to lose bond (with the tape) and thus screwing up a brand new roof. Any insight is appreciated.
  • I would put
    Eternabond tape
along the entire edge to prevent the sharp corner from cutting the new rubber roof. This tape will stick to almost anything and will accept most coatings and glues/caulks. It is also quite thick and will give a good cushion on the edge.

The link is to a 4" wide tape but they also sell 2" wide if that would work better for you.
Just be carefull installing it as once it is down it is DOWN! :)
