Winter Curtains?

I have also read that the silver stuff should not be used on dual pane windows, especially if the sun is shining. It overheats the glass and ruins the seals.

I recently saw a post where they used bubble wrap on the windows for insulation and you can still see out somewhat!! Lots of ways to attach that stuff..even put it right across that back wall and tuck into the bed mattress. You can buy all sizes at the UPS pack and ship stores!

We have not experienced cold temps mentioned by other, but we have made modifications to our Tiger RV. We would add insulation to the outside wall inside of the of each of the cabinets & inside the cabinet below the sink where possible. We also added insulation along the outside area of the couch and back area around the generator space. We also added insulation around the generator itself to help quite it and insulate it. The alum bubble insulation is available at most hardware stores. Probably the best idea was one Holly came up with to help with cooling & heating problems. She stitched up a replacement curtain to go between the coach & the cab area. It consist of fabric of your choice on both sides of a section space blanket, all stitched around the perimeter of the fabric creating an insulating blanket. This blanket works in summer to keep the heat from the cab out and in the winter to keep the heat in the couch area. It could be sized to go from floor to ceiling if needed. This idea could be used to insulate any outside window or Fantastic fan outlet. We keep a blanket on top of the dog crate.

The curtains I purchased have the thermal backing for keeping out heat or cold. Looks like a rubbery liner on the curtain. Walmart does sell them.

My Wildwood your head is next to the window. Will try the heavy curtain (if Walmart sells them) on the window.

I hung curtains with a tension curtain rod just pushed up under the valance. I left them extra long so they lay a little on the top of the dresser stopping the cold air from coming out underneath. Thanks. I tried that out today. I made it the full width inside the valance. It comes down to even with the bottom of the window frame. The shade is snug enough at the bottom that it holds the reflectix against the window frame bottom all the way across.

I am going to get stick some foam weatherstripping on the back side of the bottom bar of the shade, and maybe also on the window frame bottom, to really tighten up the sandwich. It might work.

not totally attractive, but I use reflectix behind the shades.. I slide it behind the shades and up under the valance on the top and side panels.. bottom I sit in window frame... It isn't perfect but was a quick inexpensive way to give me some additional insulation. I am still debating if I want to put curtains or not as I plan to trade in another 2-3 years.

Don't know about the -30 bit, but thonk about all around velcro on bubble wrap. Lightweight, and transparent for a bit of light.
