4 step rv steps info

So, what brand is this step setup??

I replaced the 3 step on ours with a Stromberg Carlson 4 step. Not difference in stability for my 6'2" 250 body. It was a direct replacement with the bolt pattern. With the use do a floor jack and 2x6 it took all o 30 minutes to change out.

wood. I had cabinets jacks when I worked to install cabinets so I made a smaller version and it works great. I make a couple each summer to give away during the winter.

Larry, are those step supports made of wood or metal? Looks like wood. :)

Yes those are SOLID! Been up and down my Aunt & Uncles many times.

But I do use this to make the step more solid when people go down the steps. People seem to step hard as an elephant going down the steps and this lessens the effect.

I ordered the Quadra steps from PPL Motorhomes with free shipping. About $225 but the were on sale @ the time. We are going to get a step stabalizer for them but they are so much easier for me to use. Yes you can see info dt the Elkhart Tool website someone else mentioned. I'm truly glad we chgd ours out!

Be sure to check the tread spacing, there are different ones with different spacing. I looked at some 4-step that had not much more rise than a 3 step, the treads were just closer together.

I didn't know the brand of my 4 steps was Quadra Step til I opened the link and saw the picture. They are very good steps, sturdy and evenly spaced. I'm 235 lbs and of course they flex a little but they aren't bouncy. I've also carried heavy loads and they don't flex much more than when it's just me on them. Ease of install has too many variables. I've replaced steps that were welded on and different widths and it was a 1/2 day job to get everything adjusted and uniform spacing to the rv floor. You won't know til you compared all the dimensions of the new steps to your old ones and check to see of yours are welded anywhere. Just make sure the new steps aren't too wide for your structural members and then the worst thing will probably be drilling some new holes and shimming. Craig
