- gasjarviExplorerThe difference in price for the roadside assistance plan is that FMCA is a "not for profit" organization and charges its members only what SafeRide charges them. They are not making a profit off you like Good Sam does.

I always thought GS, CN, FMCA, All State, etc would all have to use the same vendors....none of them actually have equipment.
Yeah, they pretty much have to, but just taking on any that might apply and thoroughly checking them out, is another thing.
Here's one that's interesting and for the one time, we were towed with our old coach, the person that showed up, was not the one that was called and not the one that actually had a contract with CN.
The one that did, did't even have a truck that could handle it, or so I was told, so these guys had a deal going with each other, evidently.
They did good though, so who cares.... - Blaster_ManExplorerI always thought GS, CN, FMCA, All State, etc would all have to use the same vendors....none of them actually have equipment.

Currently we have Coachnet. Fortunately, never had to use. It's time to renew and I see that FMCA offers a plan that is cheaper. Has any one used the FMCA? Is it on par with Coachnet?
We have CN and it has been ok the few time I used them, but has been a few years
The Real Problem ,in my opinion is ,that with any program that FMCA offers....You Never Know Just How Long It will Be with That Vendor
They negotiate and sign up a Vendor ,now..you sign with the one they endorse, then they drop that vendor and move to another....based on Price, but it certainly does not help the people that moved to their First choice...C - Dutch_12078Explorer II

I was about to post a similar question about ALLSTATE, after talking with my agent. It sounds good and for a much better price than CN.
So, for my next question, does anyone have it, has had it and what might their experiences have been with them?
I did a little research and found that insurance company based RSA is inferior to a company that specializes in it. There were some side by side comparisons done on length of tow, number of times per year for a call, trip interrupt, etc. And the insurance companies I looked at really lacked compared to CN and GS. I also read a lot of reviews and the ratings were bad - like really bad for Allstate, State farm etc. Granted about 99% were for auto but I still consider bad service, bad service. I decided I would stick to a company that specialized in RSA. Your experience may vary but I would take the time to do a comparison of services and read some online reviews.
The Good Sam RSA plan is serviced by Allstate Motor Club... - way2rollNavigator II

One thing that might be the best way to find out is to talk with a large wrecker service facility in your area. They are the ones that actually are sent out by the various companies. Ask them which company they prefer. The may say that they prefer a certain company because they are reimbursed sooner, give better directions, etc. If an ERS company has a bad reputation, they would be the ones to know.
This is an excellent point. Years ago when we had coachnet and had to call a tow on a Sunday for our car, CN called out of their network and finally got someone. That tow driver raved about how CN paid him the full rate right away instead of the negotiated rate GS pays him a month later. Said he was joining the CN network and often refuses GS calls due to their lower payment and lag on payment times. - rgatijnet1Explorer IIIOne thing that might be the best way to find out is to talk with a large wrecker service facility in your area. I don't know if that service is still available.
