Had a problem a couple weeks ago with my cruise control and windshield wipers not working. All of a sudden (with no input from me) both started working. Everything was ok but then all of a sudden they stopped working. I took it to two different RV shops (and the cruise and wipers started working) but/and neither shop could find anything wrong. I called tech support at Monaco and they could offer no explanation. Last Friday I was at the steering wheel trying to decipher the problem (the cruise/wipers were not working), when I inadvertently moved the adjustable steering wheel from the all the way forward (up) to all the way toward me (down). The cruise/wipers starting working. It surprised me so I moved the steering wheel forward and the cruise/wipers stayed working. I moved the steering wheel to different positions and the cruise/wipers continued to work. I turned the engine off. Then I started the engine again and the cruise/wipers did not work. I then moved the steering all the way towards me (down) and the cruise/wipers started working again. I repeated the procedure several times and the same thing happened. The cruise/wipers did not work until I pulled the steering wheel all the way towards me (down), then the cruise/wipers started working again and continued to work until I turned the engine off. I'm baffled.My question is: Have any one of you guys out there ever experienced a situation like this? I would certainly appreciate your input.

Look at the Build List of the accessories / options that came with your MH when it was built. I believe that was a $250 option at the time.:DBill

Were you driving in the rain at the time? Or, recently driven in a heavy rain?

could you possibly have a wire shorting out and when you move the steering post it comes free and works again???

There are lots of harness connections behind the dash. You may be able to remove the screws around the dash and tilt it forward to gain access. Many of the wires actually have labels on them and you may be able to find one that says cruise or wipers. In any case, carefully handle the connectors to try to find one that is giving you troubles. Do not get heavy handed. When you tilt the dash out do so very gently. You really want to be able to duplicate it and not accidently fix it.

What???

Sounds like a loose connection on one or more of the wires from the ignition switch. When you move the tilt the wires get moved ever so slightly...

In your steering column there are several plugs in the wiring harness. The plastic covers come off fairly easily. Sometimes these plugs can come loose.
I had the same problem with mine and found that the telescopic part of the steering column was jammed down and when I released it things worked better.
It also could be your Smart wheel controller under the dash.

Two possible issues. Bad connector (or loose connector) Column harness, Bad wire same harness.

Had an intermittent problem with turn signals, removed the covers for the steering column and the wiring harness near the top of the column had a plastic connector that was almost apart from the weight of the wiring. Closed the connector and zip-tied.
My chassis does not have the smart wheel, but your symptoms sound like a broken wire or loose connector.
