I had a 1989 Class A that had the panel with the toggle switches.
The switches controlled a "Latch Relay" (power one way closes relay, power other way opens, that's why rocker switch) that looked just like an automotive solenoid
but it is not and costs close to $100.
There was a 5 amp fuse near the relays and someone put in a 20 amp fuse, the switch stuck on and burned up the relay.
Find the relays, look for a fuse, and make sure the switches aren't sticky!

Ok do not use your eyes.. Use your ears

When you press a switch (On or off) do you hear a CLUNK? You may wish to have someone else listen and walk around the RV as you press and release

The circuit

Switches are DPDT Center off with the leads crossed so they are reversing switches (I will try to draw

+_________________
-______X__________Solenoid

The switch either connects "Straight through" or crossed over to turn on/off
Solenoid is a magnetic locking device

It will "Clunk" when it switches

Why not use your eyes

The LIGHT means "12 volts is present" if you are plugged into shore power or the generator or main engine are running 12 volts WILL BE PRESENT. it does not mean "Batteries connected" unless you have no other source of power.

Absent a decent load it can take a while for that light to go out due to filtering in the converter To hasten it turn on ceiling light or fans

I have double switches also but when I toggle to off, the Red light goes off indicating the relay(solenoid) has disengaged power.

I have an 05 38N. I never use my switches but one is for the engine batteries and the other is for the house batteries.

They toggle the relay so if you rock it once, all your 12 V lights should not work.

If I remember the voltage still shows either way.
