Fixed Frameless window removal/install

I have a frameless door window that needs to be replaced on my Coach. Unlike all the others that have screws holding the frame, this one looks to be glued. This is not the main door window, it’s a smaller 24” x 12” window. I have the new one, just looking for guidance on putting it in. Thanks
  • Friday night, 5pm. Who wants to get out of the coach for a few screws? Glue it!

American Dream has no clue. They stated they use LCI and Challenger for their doors. LCI has no clue. If LCI you need to get the RPO number off the tag on the inside hinge area. They "may" be able to help the. I did not call Challenger. So, looks like you will have to start making phone calls and send pics and emails. Is it possible the Mount ring and screws are hidden by the inside upholstered door cover? The window is mounted and then the inside decorative vinyl door cover is then installed? Doug

Thanks for the update. That was part of the issue, I did remove and completely expose the interior panel, no ring, no screws. Like I said, all the other frameless windows have exterior ring and screws, not this one.

Is there a reason you do not want to tell what Year and brand /Model motorhome you have? Is there a brand on the inside frame hinge area of the Door? Doug

Doug, you didn’t ask for the year and brand, it’s. 2019 American Coach Dream 45A, it’s in my profile as well. As far as the door manufacture goes, can’t find a thing. Finally got ahold of a mobile glass guy and he confirmed it’s glued. So there you go.

Doug, maybe he just added it, but it's in his signature....Dennis

I saw that, but a lot of times they do not update their sig. Doug

Who is the maker of the window? Kinro/LCI or some other brand? When you state frameless, there is NOT an inside retainer ring that uses screws? Years ago, National had a brand of windows that did not use inside retainer rings with screws. There is a "rope" around the inside rubber lip and if replacing the old window, you can cut out the rubber from the inside, which allows the outside glass to pull out. You install the new window and push from the outside, PULL the rope from the rubber inside retainer and it flops around the inside of the wall and pulls it snug. I have never seen a glued RV window other than a windshield in 42 years as a RV service Tech. Doug

All the windows in the Coach are Frameless. All of the windows, with the exception of the one I’m replacing, have screws on the inside that are spaced 4-6” around the interior of the window. The RV manufacturer sent me a new window to replace the fogged one in the door. I ve removed the interior door panel and have good access to the rear, and there are no screws. The only manufacture name I can find is Paragon. Again, this window is in the lower half of the door, below the main window. If it’s not glued in, I have no idea how it’s held in or what used to hold it in place.
  • We have a friend with a Provost RV and he had one replace last year and it was glued in. We are talking a total different type of motorhome. Said they spend most of the day in "Oregon" doing it. He said his was a very thick double glass. Just info for you.
